In a peaceful location only 1½ miles from Kington, with lovely views over Welsh border, these detached properties have an enclosed garden and access to 30 acres of land with 5 ponds with fish and waterfowl, where you can enjoy walking and picnics. Excellent walking on lanes and footpaths with direct access to Offa’s Dyke at Hergest Ridge. Much of Herefordshire and the border areas easily reached whilst coast at Aberystwyth is about 60 miles. Hay-on-Wye, Leominster 15 miles, Ludlow, Bromyard and Hereford, about 20 miles. Shops, pubs and restaurants 11/2 miles.

Woodburner in living room included. Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Cot. High chair. Electric cooker. Washing machine. Microwave. Enclosed garden and furniture. 30-acres of shared land. Parking (3 cars). No smoking. Friday to Friday. NB: 5 ponds in 30-acres shared land.

  2. We really appreciated the extra care that the owner took (eg welcoming tea) to make us feel at home. Steepholm was warm and we had endless supplies of firewood for the log burner, which came in very useful as the weather was atrocious. However, it didn’t stop us having a lovely holiday, and we would recommend this property and area to anyone. We enjoyed the black-and-white village trail and the warm welcome in all the local pubs. We have two small dogs and this property is ideal as it is private and self-contained. The cottage is well-equipped, the only thing that didn’t seem to work was the radio. However, as we didn’t mention this to the owner, we are sure that if she had known, she would have replaced it. Lovely, relaxing holiday (and Grandpa, aged 92, enjoyed it as well). Oct 2012.

  5. This was one of the best cottages we have stayed in. Tea ( Sandwiches and cakes were provided for our arrival) most unexpected and the supply of logs for log burner was endless again unexpected, usually only the first bag is left. Location was so peaceful and the host very friendly and helpful. A great holiday base and one we will return to. March 2012.
  6. Whilst the lounge and bedrooms were cosy, the kitchen and the dining area were really spacious and easy to use. This made for a very comfortable Christmas. Dec 2011.

  10. A pleasant clean, comfortable cottage, well equipped and in full working order. The views were stunning, draped in thick snow and despite the freezing outside temperatures it was so cosy inside, the log burner was a delightful touch as were the welcoming home made goodies on arrival.   14. The property was in a lovely location, with a view of Hergist Ridge. We were greeted by the owner, who was very friendly and helpful. she had also provided welcoming homemade cakes. The house was clean and warm, with good equipment. Everything worked. The owners provided a lot of wood for the log burner, which was great. It made the room we used in the evening really cosy. The garden was well maintained, and the visiting chickens were entertaining. April 2010.
