The village itself has a famous church, Wordsworth was married here. The apartments face south and open onto a beautiful, landscaped garden with a barbecue area, which is the perfect place to relax after a day’s exploration. Shops and excellent tea rooms are just a short walk away. Pub 2 miles.

  1. Very good cottage, lovely and quiet.Good standard of bedding etc. Garden was great ! Nice village with good butchers... but pub was closed the week we were there. April 2012.
  2. The property was excellent - very clean and with everything you need for a week away (the on-site laundry facilities are a real bonus). There are wonderful gardens to sit in and enjoy the peace and quiet. The property overlooks the village cricket pitch and our children were allowed to go and play on the outfield which gave them loads of space to run around in. The village itself is charming and has an excellent butchers shop. The property is ideally placed for visiting both the coast and the North Yorkshire moors. There is a bus service to the village but I would recommend that having your own transport is a must. March 2012.
  3. This property was immaculately clean and comfortable, although the bed was a little soft for my liking. The garden was beautiful and excellent for the children to play in. Good local pub with nice food (The Cayley Arms) within walking distance, and ice-cream parlour about 10 minutes away at Thornton-le-Dale was well worth a visit. Aug 2011.
  4. Ideal for families with younger children due to large enclosed garden, with access to cricket field, lots of running around space. Lots of seats & tables in garden and Barbeque pit. Very quiet. Lots in interesting things to do and see within 30 - 40 mins drive. Local pubs are nice. Aug 2011.
  5. Excellent location for both coast and the Yorkshire Moors. Unique accommodation with nice gardens and great view, over the local village cricket ground. July 2011.
  6. This is an ideal spot for the sea side and the North Yorkshire Moors. Plenty to see and do within a 25 mile radius. July 2011.
  7. Our holiday at the Station House was an absolute joy. Lovely accomodation and spectacular views across open country. The location meant we were very close to interesting places like Pickering and beautiful countryside in nearby Dolby Forest. The village of Brompton itself was a real "find" complete with its own river, picturesque church and a real butchers shop - delicious. March 2011.
  8. Superb location, a home from home feel. Owners very welcoming and helpful. Would definately return. Feb 2011.
  9. Lovely cottage in beautiful surroundings. Oct 2010.
  10. This is a very cosy and homely property. It was very child friendly for our 5 year old son and very clean. Oct 2010.
  11. The property was clean and furnishings were comfortable. It has to be said the mattress was the most comfortable I’ve ever slept on on holiday!! Aug 2010.
  12. Nice and quiet, easy striking distance of things to do and see. Aug 2010.
  13. Good outlook, friendly and helpful welcome to the property and it was comfy too. April 2010.
  14. Lovely ground floor accommodation, everything you need for a home from home. Views across countryside are relaxing and quiet, and loads of ground for the children to run around in. Aug 2009.
  15. We found the owners of the property very friendly and informative. Unfortunately the cricket season had not started so my husband was unable to make use of the cricket pitch being next door to the gardens. Everyone in the area was friendly and helpful during our stay and we would certainly entertain the idea of using the same area and place for our future holidays. April 2008.
  16. Excellent accommodation. beautiful and peaceful surroundings, we can recommend to any family. Feb 2006.
  17. Brompton-by-Sawdon was a beautiful village with a stream running through it and ducks and hens wandering around. It was idyllic. The local butcher’s shop and Newsagents were very good. April 2007.
  18. It was a lovely well presented cottage. The owners were very helpful. When my son lost a small toy during our stay they later found it and forwarded it on to us. May 2006.
