Stanhope Cottage is tucked away in a peaceful location just minutes from the magnificent coastal path, with mining history on the doorstep. Extensively renovated, the holiday cottage is one of a pair and provides comfortable accommodation with magnificent coastal views and extensive gardens and grounds. Nearby, Cape Cornwall Golf and Country Club provides an indoor swimming-pool, sauna and gym. Alternative attractions include Lands End, the Minack Theatre, Penzance, a trip to the Scilly Isles, St. Ives plus numerous sandy coves and beaches. Shop 1½ miles, pub ¼ mile.

Two bedrooms each with wooden floor; one double and one twin bed. Bathroom with shower cubicle, toilet and tiled floor. First floor: Spacious beamed living/dining room/well-equipped kitchen with multi-fuel stove, vaulted ceiling and wooden floor.

The cottage was lovely, spotlessly clean and the kitchen well stocked with pans, crockery, cutlery etc. The woodburning stove was wonderful the first day we were there when we had gale force winds and heavy rain. We planned to walk along the coastal footpath and the cottage was ideally situated for this. We had great views from the lounge window and there was a lovely garden to sit in. The owner was very helpful and made us very welcome. We would certainly stay at Stanhope Cottage again and would definitely recommend it to anyone. April 2012.
  5. Great view out to sea and nice quiet position, particularly appealing if you like walking. Four pubs within walking distance of about a mile or less and all do food that looks to be very acceptable (we tried two and both were fine). April 2012.
  6. Take plenty of change for the council/national trust car parks. If Coastal walking use sun lotion/moisturiser even when cold, as Windburn is likely! April 2012.
  7. This is a gem of a property, the photo’s of the property do not do it justice. I would rate everything about this property as being excellent, spotlessly clean, very comfortable - just sit on the sofa and look out to sea, great coastal walks from the doorstep. The owner who lives next door could not be more helpfull. This is the best in Cornwall that we have stayed in, a credit to the owner. Nov 2011.

  17. Quiet comfortable and very well equipped cottage. Extremely friendly and welcoming host but not at all intrusive. All rooms were very clean and furnished to a high level, and the bathroom was just lovely with a separate shower. Heating level perfect for time of year. Outside space exceptional, especially if there are children. March 2011.
