1. These terms and conditions should be read with the Booking Conditions and insurance information in our brochures or on our website. Especially note Sections 2, 4 and 7 of the Booking Conditions
2. Offer applies only to bookings for 2014 which are booked before 13th April 2014.
3. The low deposit payable under this offer is £25.
4. Does not apply to properties that sleep 10 or more.
5. The difference between the £25 low  deposit and the usual deposit shown in our main brochure or website is payable with the balance payment, which we must receive no later than 10 weeks before your booking starts, or at the time of cancellation if you cancel your booking. This payment will include all applicable charges as detailed on your booking confirmation, including any insurance premiums and any Ferry costs. If payment is not received in full on time, we can treat your booking as cancelled by you for a non-refundable reason. If this happens, you will be responsible for cancellation charges (as shown in our main brochure or our website) including any deferred Booking Fee, Personal Travel Insurance and Ferry crossings that you have chosen to buy, all of which must be paid immediately.

Property Description

Spindleberry, a pretty 15th and 16th century, listed, beamed, thatched holiday cottage situated in Chulmleigh, one of the few remaining self sufficient villages in Devon. Local amenities include a bakery and shops selling local produce, P.O, pubs and restaurants. This delightful village is within easy driving distance of Exmoor, Dartmoor National Parks, Exeter, Cathedral City, Tiverton, Barnstaple and beaches. Nearby Tarka Trail cycle/footpath is worth exploring. Golf and fishing locally. Shops, pubs and restaurants 200 yards.

Ground floor: Living room. Dining room. Kitchen. Utility room. Bathroom with shower attachment and toilet. First floor: 2 bedrooms: 1 double (5ft four poster), 1 twin.

Electric woodburner in living room included. Electricity coal burner in dining room included. Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Digital TV. DVD. CD. Electric cooker. Microwave. Washing machine. Freezer. High walled garden leading to further extensive gardens and furniture. Exercise equipment in utility room. No smoking. Friday to Friday.

  1. We had a special reason for visiting this cottage my husband lived in it as a boy from 1939 -1950 It had been updated beautifully but still retained its special charms. March 2012.
  2. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We came for a romantic winter honeymoon break, so we really didn’t explore the local area at all. We loved the four poster bed, the cosy living room with the massive TV, the beautiful Xmas decorations they provided, and everything else. We even explored the garden once, and it was gorgeous, and we really enjoyed watching the birds from the kitchen window. Perfect. Dec 2011.

  5. This cottage is absolutely charming and incredibly well equipped. It was very cosy when we arrived there in the evening and exciting to peer out of the stable door and see the archway through to the orchard behind the little garden. The village has nice little shops and is well located if you want to visit central Devon or any of the coastlines. There is no WiFi but I guess that’s why you’re on holiday! Taller people would need to mind the beams. The fires are nice but are gas. Aug 2011.
  6. A delightful quaint chocolate box thatched cottage which provided the warmest of welcomes. The beautiful country interior was gently lit with glowing lamps and the traditional inglebook fireplaces had welcoming fires lit to create a truly homely atmostphere. The cottage was wonderfully equipped with all of the facilities of home and we were totally delighted to find a secret garden beyond the kitchen garden which was a magical treat for our toddler. The village offers all the basics and two fantastic pubs with really good meals. The restaurant at the Globe is a must and the Red Lion is great for a drink at the end of a long day. March 2011.
  7. Absolutely stunning cottage, beautifully and lovingly restored full of character and charm. Could not fault the cottage, or the lovely lady who gave us the keys and made us very welcome. There has been a lot of time and thought gone into making the cottage a fabulous place to spend a little holiday, just delightful. Feb 2011.
  8. The cottage was charming, both inside and out. It felt like walking into a most welcoming home, complete with all life’s little luxuries - nothing was missing and many unexpected treats were included. It was large and spacious, deliciously warm and the 2 back gardens were a delight to explore, even in winter. Within a few minutes walk were all the shops and facilities needed, and many friendly folk stopped and stalked on the street and in the pub. I was genuinely sad to leave and wished I had at least another week. Feb 2011.
