Beautifully presented, the property boasts use of croquet lawns, tennis court and outdoor heated swimming pool. In the heart of the Yorkshire Wolds, there are footpaths almost from the door. Close to the historic houses of Burton Agnes and Sledmere. Within a short drive you have a wide range of places to visit including Scarborough, Whitby and Bridlington, together with the North Yorkshire Moors National Park and steam railway. There are endless activities for all the family. The historic city of York is only 34 miles away and makes for a great day out. The RSPB Bempton Cliffs nature reserve is only 13 miles away where you can observe puffins, dolphins and seals in their natural habitat. Shops, inns 500 yards.

The owners are extremely welcoming and helpful and can advise on what to do and where to go in the surrounding area. It really is a hidden gem, equally perfect for either cosy romantic escape or family holiday. We’ve been to South Lodge 2 years running and will be booking for a 3 visit. June 2012.

  7. This property is finished to a high standard and spotlessly clean. It is also warm and comfortable. There was a welcome hamper waiting for us when we arrived. Our hosts, Joanne and David gave us a very warm welcome and ensured we had everything we needed and there were no issues to spoil our week. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and there are lots of places to see and things to do. We intend to return before too long. May 2011.
  8. South Lodge is set is a peaceful garden which is sheltered back from the road but in an ideal location for the coastal resorts. The village is very quiet. Joanne and David the owners were very friendly and helpful and the Lodge was decorated to a high standard and exceptionally clean and welcoming. May 2011.
  9. The cottage was superbly equipped, beautifully furnished and in a delightfully quiet location. The adjacent paddock was ideal and safe for exercising the dog.
