Property Description

Set in the heart of the village this light and airy stone built holiday cottage is only a few minutes walk from the sea ideal for water sports, walkers or those looking for some peace and tranquillity in this unspoilt village, with its golden beach and small harbour. Cycle, walk or drive along this beautiful stretch of coastline. Horse riding and golf can be found close by. A trip to see the seals at the Farne Islands is a must from nearby bustling Seahouses. The towering castle of Bamburgh is a mere 3 miles and Alnwick famous for its castle and water gardens is only 12 miles. Shops and pubs 100 yards.

Ground floor: Living/dining room with sofa bed and wooden floor. Kitchen. Separate toilet. First floor: 2 bedrooms: 1 double (5ft), 1 twin. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet.

Gas central heating, gas, electricity and bed linen included. Cot and high chair on request. Two Freeview TVs. DVDs and small library. Gas hob. Electric oven. Microwave. Washing machine. Dishwasher. Fridge/freezer. Wi-fi. Enclosed, lawned garden with patio, sitting-out area and furniture. Barbecue. Parking (1 car). No smoking. Friday to Friday.

  1. An excellent location if you are looking for a quiet base to explore the natural beauty of the Northumberland coastline. For those nor wishing to self cater there are two hotels with bars and restaurants within a very short walking distance. Both have a friendly and welcoming feel to them. For a quick take away there is a chippy only 5 mins away on foot. March 2012.
  2. What a lovely, peaceful place, had everything you could possibly need in the cottage. It wasn’t too far from anywhere, but enough you thought you were on your own. The only thing we found, we had no light to see, when we first arrived, we couldn`t see to use the keysafe. Places to visit include Berwick upon Tweed, Alnwick, Bamburgh castle was beautiful and so is the beach, Seahouses is a lovely little harbour place, great Indian restaurant there. We also went to Newcastle to the Metro centre. Holy Island and Lindisfarne were beautiful. We got married while we were there in Alnwick and went to the Treehouse for our lunch, great place to visit, the food was lovely. We hope to go back up there very soon, and would hope to use Smugglers Cove again. Oct 2011.
  3. The cottage was beautiful, absolutely top-notch. The area was fabulous, unspoilt & serene. We have had a fantastic holiday. It was lovely to visit a part of England that we have not been to before and discover a beautiful corner of our own country. We would recommend visiting Budle beach - amazing! Also Bamburgh Castle & Alnwick Castle. August 2011.
  4. Very central village location, 2 minute walk to local pub/food. Very quiet location although visited during Scottish holidays so immediate private well kept caravan park was quieter than usual. July 2011.
