Property Description

This beautifully converted adjoining barn is situated in a rural location just outside the town of Okehampton and is surrounded by 25 acres of woodland and walks that guests can enjoy during their stay. The cottage is part of Kigbeare Studios, which is made up of a small group of master potters, wood and metal workers and their studios. The location is ideal holiday base from which to explore the North Cornwall and Devon areas. Close to Okehampton, which is the gateway to Dartmoor National Park. Stunning beaches at Woolacombe and Sandymouth. Enjoy a day out at Hartland and visit the lighthouse, quay and the fishing village at Clovelly. Shop and pub 3 miles.

  1. The cottage although remote is a perfect haven away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It is extremely well finished and has everything you could need. Good food was found at the Bearslake Inn and The Horn Of Plenty. A perfect place to return to after a days walking on Dartmoor or exploring the nearby National Trust properties. May 2012.
  2. Good place for family get togethers, very dog friendly as are the 2 pubs down the valley in Brendon, The Staghunters and Rockford Inn. Both do good food and tasty ales. Lovely walks from the house, but not suitable for anyone with walking difficulties. May 2012.
  3. The location of the cottage is beautiful. The cottage itself is superb, fully equipped. Also the owners have provided information on the best places to walk and see in the area. Would recommend this cottage to anyone, and will definitely book again. April 2012.

  5. A very modern well furnished cottage, great area for dog walks and plenty of places to visit nearby. The cottage is attached to the art studios but still private, the shops of Qkehampton are only 10 minutes drive away. Thanks for a lovley stay. March 2012.

Fantastic cottage, the pictures just do not do it justice, its beautiful, the best appliances and 100% in every way, we could of quite happily lived there forever, my dream home would definitely love to stay again, and we recommend " Betty Cottles Inn " lovely place for fab food and friendly staff.   9. We could not find a visitors book, but for a relaxing holiday away from the bustle of everyday life this was an excellent location. Within easy reach of the busy little town of Oakhampton. Aug 2011.
  10. Beautiful barn conversion with top quality furnishings and fittings. Lovely location, in future would investigate having lessons from the potter and other artisans on site. Dartmoor weather let us down but the cottage was so comfortable this wasn’t too much of a hardship. Location perfect for exploring and lots of NT properties within a short drive. Very friendly and helpful owners onsite and if we had been golfers, back gate opens on to 5 courses! Aug 2011.
  11. Could not fault this - it is superbly decorated and furnished with a few excellent pieces of craft pottery. The wood-burner is super-efficient; three logs and the room is warm all night! May 2011.
  12. This cottage had everything we wanted. It was comfortable and furnished to an extremely high standard. The location was very peaceful but we did not feel isolated. Ideal for exploring Dartmoor or if you just want to relax. May 2011.
