Shawside is set in stunning, peaceful countryside within a short walk of The Roaches, a beautiful part of the Peak District ideal for walking, cycling, climbing and riding. Buxton is a 20 minute drive, Leek 10 minutes, though the main road is almost entirely out of sight and sound from the house. Shawside is a classic Victorian Staffordshire farmhouse and barn conversion set in four acres of grounds, with unrestricted views along a moorland valley and very few buildings in sight. In summer the heather blooms and turns the valley a gorgeous purple. Shop 3 miles, pub 1½ miles.

  3. The cottage was lovely with everything we needed for our week away. There were toys and DVDs to keep the kids happy during the wet weather. Views from the cottage were stunning and the log stove a fab extra, much used (even though it was the beginning of August..). We hope to return to the cottage again. Aug 2011.

  10. The cottage was beautiful - warm, welcoming and fully equipped with everything we needed. The location is also perfect - incredibly beautiful views, stands completely on it’s own, and yet is within easy reach of Buxton with all it’s facilities. We can’t wait to go back - and maybe shouldn’t be recommending it so highly or everyone else will book it and we won’t be able to! Sept 2009.

If payment is not received in full on time, we can treat your booking as cancelled by you for a non-refundable reason. If this happens, you will be responsible for cancellation charges (as shown in our main brochure or our website) including any deferred Booking Fee, Personal Travel Insurance and Ferry crossings that you have chosen to buy, all of which must be paid immediately..
