Property Description

Stunningly set by the sea, in the designated Solway Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this large detached property commands dramatic panoramas from every room, over the sea to Scotland and meadows to the Lake District Fells. Seaview stands in an unspoilt seashore hamlet of 28 homes, and is surrounded by its own enclosed gardens, with vast sands just over the road. It has eight good-sized bedrooms (three with en-suite facilities). There is ample room for large groups, making it a perfect holiday destination for families to get together in a seaside/rural area. Between the house and sands is a nature reserve, a park-like greensward stretching for 12 miles from the Victorian seaside resort of Silloth (3 miles) to the fishing harbour of Maryport (9 miles) with play areas and delightful shoreline walks. The Beckfoot sands offer rock pools, sea angling, sailing, windsurfing, kite surfing and swimming, as well as an abundance of bird life and glorious sunsets to enjoy. Behind the house quiet lanes wind through the Solway Plain and offer excellent cycle routes. Just 2½ miles down the road is a modern leisure centre, with indoor swimming-pool, spa, sauna, gym, tennis, shop and café. Five 18-hole golf courses are nearby – Silloth’s is in the ‘Top 100’ and is a championship qualifying course. With Hadrian’s Wall, the Lake District National Park and the Scottish Borders all easily accessible, this makes an ideal touring centre. Shop and pub 3 miles.

Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. A good base for Lake District. Quiet, easy access, comfortable. Surrounding area not great, but accommodation much cheaper. April 2012.
  2. This property is amazing! We went for my 30th birthday and there were 16 of us in all. 8 adults and 8 children. The house was a great size. Plenty of room for all of us and loads to keep the kids entertained. The beach was literally right on the doorstep. It was brilliant and a great time was had by all. We would definitely return. Great value for money when there is a large group of you. Even though it was November we had lovely weather and even managed a BBQ on one of the days! Nov 2011.
  3. Perfect location overlooking sea. Plenty of seating in lounge & dining room. Well equipped kitchen. Beds comfy. Plenty bathrooms. July 2011.

  6. The accomodation was spacious and suited all ages of our family we celebrated our golden wedding anniversary with our family and found the property very well equiped. We also enjoyed the sea view and the beautifull sunsets. May 2010.
  7. The accommodation was everything we needed there was 15 people 12 adults and 3 children and it catered for everyone with plenty of space. March 2010.

  11. Highly recommended for a get together for all age ranges our party of 16 catered for the needs of 8 up to 70. April 2009.
  12. The house was ideal for a large gathering and on the one awful day (gales and rain) there was plenty of space and things to do in the house. The choice of books made me wish we were staying longer. The outside space was well catered in terms of seating areas, (again one could spread out) and equipment for children, cooking and the hammock. The garden was well kept. The views from the property were super and also interesting places in the locality to visit. The house served our needs well and the party ranged from 9-86 years. Oct 2008.
  13. The house was perfect for a large (17 people) family holiday. The brochure did not do the property justice. June 2008.
  14. Everything about the cottage was better than expected - especially the games room where we all participated in table tennis / football tournaments! March 2008.
  15. Very well equipped with all household and kitchen appliances and nice bed linen. Dec 2007.
  16. Nicely situated and very well equipped property. Sept 2007.
