Owned by Her Majesty the Queen, in Right of Her Duchy of Lancaster, Scalby Lodge is a collection of fifteen beautiful cottages situated in an idyllic clifftop setting near the elegant seaside town of Scarborough.

All the cottages are finished with fixtures and fittings of the very highest standard and have open-plan dining. Some have en-suite bedrooms. They offer an ideal location from which to explore both the North York Moors National Park and the glorious Heritage Coast of Yorkshire.

We had a thoroughly comfortable and fantastic stay, there was only 1 drawback it was`nt long enough could have stayed for another week.So peaceful and located in a fabulous spot just about central for both Bridlington and Scarborough within half an hours drive.We received a lovely farm shop welcome pack which was totally unexpected,just an half hour stroll to a Tesco express store. Once again an ecellent property definately booking to go again. March 2011.

The cottage was spotlessly clean,nice and warm, ample space to relax, a super kitchen, brilliant bathroom, superb bedroom, ample parking space beautiful surroundings and the welcome pack a bonus, i must add that over the last 40 years or more this was the best cottage we have ever stayed in, a credit to HM Queen. Jan 2011.
  7. The kitchen was well fitted out, with everything we needed. There was a small hamper on arrival. The fire was lovely. Very cosy and comfatable Blinds at the skylights would have made it perfect. Nov 2010.
  8. The cottage was situated in a beautiful area with beautiful walks. Peaceful and tranquil. The property was clean and luxurious. We had a friendly greeting and was left with an hamper from the local shop which was thoughtful. Couldn’t ask for a better place to visit and I will hopefully re-visiting very soon. Sept 2010.
  9. Super situated, next to Cleveland way. Super for walks with the dog! Hares Leap Farm shop 5 minutes away with the car excellent food and shopping for fresh produce. Sept 2010.
