These superb holiday cottages are set within the grounds of the owner’s cottage in a glorious setting of 2 acres of stunning lawned gardens. With 0.3 acres of ornamental water garden with a variety of ducks and attractive shrubs and plants, and 3 acres of arboretum, the cottages provide a very good standard of accommodation, perfect for a relaxing holiday. Tastefully furnished and well equipped, they have beamed ceilings, open face brick walls and pine floors. French doors lead out onto patio areas where there are lovely views across the beautiful gardens. Many coastal walks can be enjoyed in the Purbecks (15 miles), with Swanage Steam Railway, Corfe Castle (NT) and Studland Beach. Poole, Bournemouth and The New Forest are all within easy reach for enjoyable day trips making this an ideal holiday location. (W7729 and W8153 can be interconnected). Shop 0.75 miles, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

Ground floor: Living room with French doors, beams and wooden floor/dining room/kitchen. Open tread stairs to first floor: 1 double bedroom with en-suite bathroom with shower over bath and toilet.

Oil central heating and electricity included (£35per week October-April). Shared lawned garden with patio and furniture.

All properties: Bed linen and towels included. Electric cooker. Microwave. Shared laundry facilities. Built-in barbecue. Ample parking. Friday to Friday. NB: Pond in garden.

  3. Sandbanks is a lovely property, the gardens just went on and on, with it’s own woods. One day when the weather was good, we had a very romantic undisturbed picnic in the woods. Though there is possibly three other couples staying at the same time, the grounds are so vast, you are not on top of each other. In fact, apart from the first day, we did not see anyone. So if it is a get away from it all you want, then Sandbanks fits the bill. July 2011.

While we enjoyed our stay we felt the property would benefit from a little upgrading in particular the heating, for most of the week the downstairs rooms were decidely chilly even though the heating was on for most of the day although the upstairs bedroom and bathroom were good. The property had a beautiful large garden and was very peacful. March 2011.
