Set in 70 acres of beautiful pastures leading to the Coombe Valley. As the name suggests, Sanctuary Farm Cottages provides a wonderful sanctuary in which to relax and unwind. Converted to a very good standard, these barn conversions, built using authentic materials, retain plenty of character with vaulted ceilings, exposed stonework and oak wooden floors. The holiday cottages have been individually decorated to provide an ambience of peace and tranquillity. Woods Close (ref 17831) has its own private balcony and sitting out area boasting wonderful views. Guests are free to wander the woodlands and natural grounds or a 1½ mile walk through woodlands leads to the sandy beach at Duckpool. A profusion of cliff, beach and moorland paths for walkers to enjoy - why not start with the coastline’s Heritage Trail. Bude, 5 miles, has shops, pubs, restaurants and facilities for golf, swimming and ten pin bowling. Horse riding in the village. There are four golf courses within a 30-minute drive, including the Ivyleaf Golf Course which is just 3 miles away. Water sports, fishing, canoeing and bird watching at Tamar Lakes, 6 miles. Shop and pub 1½ miles. Appletree Cottage, ref 18512, adjoins Woods Close, ref 17381.

  5. I just love the location, forget the car and just wander straight from the door. Veiws are brilliant, being able to walk to the beach through beautiful woodland is magical. The accommodation is compact but perfectly formed you have ever thing you need including view from your bed, bath and breakfast bar! Aug 2011.

  7. We just could not fault this little converted pigsty! We loved everything about it. The owner is incredibly helpful, the views are lovely and the walk to the beach is great; the little hamlet that you pass with its thatched cottages and ford across the road is postcard-picture perfection! The property is fantastic VFM. You are some distance from the town however, so if you plan to eat out or go for a drink, factor in the taxi fare. March 2011.

  11. The cottage was a former barn that had been renovated to a very high standard. The accommodation was definitely 5 star. The owner had laid on a cream tea as a welcome - complete with a large pot of jam and clotted cream in the fridge - she had even provided a pint of milk in case I had forgotton to bring one!   17. This a stunning little cottage, thoughtfully converted and fitted out with loads and loads of character. Everything was provided and the facilities were far greater then anywhere we’ve stayed before. Including our own decking area with barbecue facilities and stunning views.
