Set in 70 acres of beautiful pastures leading to the Coombe Valley. As the name suggests, Sanctuary Farm Cottages provides a wonderful sanctuary in which to relax and unwind. Converted to a very good standard, these barn conversions, built using authentic materials, retain plenty of character with vaulted ceilings, exposed stonework and oak wooden floors. The holiday cottages have been individually decorated to provide an ambience of peace and tranquillity. Woods Close (ref 17831) has its own private balcony and sitting out area boasting wonderful views. Guests are free to wander the woodlands and natural grounds or a 1½ mile walk through woodlands leads to the sandy beach at Duckpool. A profusion of cliff, beach and moorland paths for walkers to enjoy - why not start with the coastline’s Heritage Trail. Bude, 5 miles, has shops, pubs, restaurants and facilities for golf, swimming and ten pin bowling. Horse riding in the village. There are four golf courses within a 30-minute drive, including the Ivyleaf Golf Course which is just 3 miles away. Water sports, fishing, canoeing and bird watching at Tamar Lakes, 6 miles. Shop and pub 1½ miles. Appletree Cottage, ref 18512, adjoins Woods Close, ref 17381.

  3. A lovely cottage in a good location with extremely warm and friendly owners. The cottage is finished beautifully, with very little expense spared. The living area and bedroom were extremely comfortable and well equipped. Whilst the farm is very quite and secluded, you can still be in Bude within 10 minutes. Even Padstow and Newquay are very accessible (less than 1 hour drive, with the Eden project a but further. The surrounding area provides many nice walks and country pubs. The coastal walk to Bude is particularly good, with many small secluded coves along the way (although at around 7 miles you probably wouldn’t want to go both ways.) I would definitely recommend this cottage and will certainly be returning there myself. A wonderfully relaxing holiday. Feb 2012.

  7. The cottage was lovely. It was a barn conversion that had been done to a high modern standard. The bed was very comfortable and the cottage was very clean and well equipped. The cottage was on a farm in the middle of the countryside, so ideal for getting away drom it all! It was a mile and a half to the nearest village, and about 10 minutes drive to Bude. July 2010.
  8. If you like seclusion then this is the place to go. Although the farm track to and from the cottage is rather long and bumpy it leads to a very well presented cottage where there is a very pleasant walk down to the beach. Owners are pleasant and helpful - the cream tea ready on arrival is a very nice touch. May 2010.
