Property Description

Private swimming pool

Gard

Set within a stunning wine domain in beautiful settings this is the only holiday property, and enjoys private use of the large swimming pool overlooking the vineyards and olive trees. The first floor wing accommodation is immaculate and very well presented. Its very large balcony is ideal for dining al-fresco enjoying a glass of wine that began its life only metres from the doorway.

When at the domain the impression is one of being miles from anywhere yet the lively town of Saint Ambroix is only 600m, with shops, restaurants, and bars, some located on the pretty banks of the river Ceze (1.5 km). The possibilities for day excursion are varied and await in all directions. The Cevennes regional nature park is to the west and the Gorges de l’Ardèche to the east.

If it is not just beautiful scenery that’s required head south to discover some of the most visited sites of France. The Pont-du-Gard, one of the wonders of the ancient world. Uzés famous for its pottery and impressive Saturday market which invades the whole of the town centre. The historical towns of Nîmes and Avignon are both within 80km, and only slightly further afield the nature park of La Camargue and the golden sandy beaches of the Mediterranean.

Shop and restaurant 0.7km, café/bar 0.5km.

All on first floor: Lounge/kitchen/diner, 1 twin bedroom (can also be kingsize) with en-suite shower, toilet and basin, sofa bed in lounge.

Electric heating, all fuel and power included in rent, bed linen and towels included in rent, colour TV, DVD player, radio/cassette/CD player, freezer, microwave, lawned garden, terrace, garden furniture, barbecue, off road parking for 2 cars. Sorry, no pets.

Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. Comfortable in absolutely idyllic location, easy walking distance of St Ambroix, even though the owner did not speak English and our French was limited communication was fun and no problem. As a bonus the wine from the vineyard was superb. The area was beautiful, unspoilt rural France and Madame gave us excellent advice on where to visit. The apartment was spacious and comfortable. April 2012.
  2. The property was well equipped with all the linen and towels provided. It was airy, comfy with plenty of storage area. It could be private but also there could be a closeness to the French family who lived and worked there if you needed anything. It was within 10 minutes walking of numerous cafe’s restaurants and bars and close to 2 supermarkets. July 2010.
  3. Top class furnishings and fittings. Close to town but very private. Wine shop on site. July 2010.
  4. Situation on wine domain excellent, lovely swimming pool with outdoor kitchen area/BBQ. June 2010.
  5. Good privacy, despite proximity of owners and family. Security also good, on gated wine domaine. May 2010.
  6. This was the best decorated, equipped and furnished property we have stayed in. The private pool area was superb with covered outdoor fully equipped kitchen and the family were friendly yet discreet, charming and generous. Ideal for two people seeking peace and elegance, yet close to facilities - Intermarche was two minutes away, and we walked to the market in the town. April 2010.
  7. The facilities were very well equipped with everything thought of and some nice extra touches too. The furnishing was tasteful and comfortable and the owners were very helpful and friendly. Sept 2009.
  8. We thought the property was well very well equipped and met all our needs. There are some steps to walk up to the property but there is a hand rail. Aug 2009.
  9. A stunning location, very peaceful. The working vineyard and lovely wine were an added bonus. The pool area was beautiful with a fantastic area for preparing a BBQ. We could also sit overlooking the vineyards and enjoy a light meal with a choice of about 8 different dishes, I recommend the goats cheese salad. We hired a car and visited some of the beautiful villages and towns in the area. If you enjoy your holiday any where near as much as my husband and I- you’re in for a real treat. July 2009.
  10. The brochure undersold the facilities on offer. We arrived to find that on top of a first class apartment there was a wine bar/restaurant at the property and a shop selling wine and country produce. July 2009.
  11. Beautifully furnished apartment throughout. Fantastic exclusive use of swimming pool. July 2009.
  12. We could not have been made more welcome at this beautiful accommodation. The owner, who speaks no English, is delightful. The accommodation is perfect for visiting the Cevenne region as well as the historic sites not too far away, providing you can tear yourself away from the private pool! May 2008.
  13. A wonderful setting, true France. June 2008.
  14. Beautiful surroundings. Very helpful owners. We were kept well supplied with wine, fresh figs & grapes and puddings!! Very interesting place to stay as the vineyard is a working vineyard, enjoyed watching them harvesting the grapes and the process from beginning to end. Sept 2008.
  15. The owner and her family are an absolute delight. They speak not a word of English (nor we of French) but endeavoured to make us feel comfortable from the outset, and throughout. By typing into Google translator Mme Manifacier informed us we could use her house for internet, that a market was on in town, that a festival was on in Ales and gave us a general welcome. The whole family were just wonderful. The accommodation was immaculate and beautiful and set in a stunning part of the country. I would recommend this to anyone. May 2007.
