The Tudor part of the beautiful former vicarage has been renovated whilst retaining original character, to provide spacious holiday accommodation close to the coastal regions of West Somerset. The Gatehouse is an attractive two storey holiday home which is within the Rossholme grounds. The cottages are situated in 5 acres of lawns and landscaped gardens, with shared use of a hard tennis court and outdoor heated swimming pool during the summer months. Each property has a barbecue area and views over open countryside. A function room seating 60 is available on site by prior arrangement with the owner, and catering can be arranged. East Brent lies at the foot of Brent Knoll, a 450ft high hill that has the remains of an ancient Celtic camp on its summit with views of the Quantocks, Bridgwater Bay, the Bristol Channel, the Mendips and South Wales. With easy access to the M5, the village is only minutes from the coast; Weston-Super-Mare and Sand Bay have sandy beaches and family attractions, whilst the smaller resorts of Clevedon and Burnham on Sea retain an atmosphere of a bygone era. Axbridge is 5 miles, and the caves and gorge at Cheddar, 6 miles. For walking and cycling, the Quantocks, the Mendips, the Somerset Levels and Exmoor are close by. Shop 1 mile, pub 600 yards.

  1. Rossholme is in a beautiful spot and we really enjoyed the walks in the neighbourhood -the walk up the knoll especially shouldn’t be missed. The house is comfortable with lots of space in the bedrooms and plenty of bathrooms. The kitchen was a nice place to sit and fairly well equipped. The living room was too small for our group.   3. This is a large house catering for big parties. It has a well kitted out kitchen and two lounges. We had a big 30th birthday party here which it was perfect for. There are loads of bathrooms and toilets. There is only enough toilet paper to get you started though so you need to bring more, which we didn’t realise before. Oct 2011.

  6. This is a fantastic place for a big family get together or reunion. It is comfortable and well equiped, and a great place to chill out and relax. The grounds are fabulous and the children had hours of fun in the swimming pool. It would be great to find another excuse to go back there!! June 2011.
  7. My friends and I wanted somewhere we could all meet up that had plenty of room for husbands and children to come along too (all fifteen of us). This place surpassed all expectations and was absolutely perfect!! The kitchen was huge with a long table for us to all sit at and with two lounges there was also somewhere to go if you needed some peace. Yes, one staircase was steep but there was another one that could be used instead so it wasn’t a problem. I would thoroughly recommend this accommodation!! Mrs B. Nov 2010.

  12. Location, size and owners were very helpful and on location if we needed them. Their was lots of information about the surrounding area as you entered the property so it was easy to get about if you needed to without prior plans. March 2010.
  13. Very clean on arrival, with everything in place for a large group, pots and pans etc... The owners were very welcoming and left us too it when we were shown around. The location was excellent, with good access to local supermarkets and a village pub! Being just off the motorway made it easy to get to. Jan 2010.

The huge dining table made all the difference, as it meant that we were all able to cook and eat together. The grounds were beautiful, and it was lovely to be able to spill out onto the lawn. It was also nice to feel completely private, while knowing that the owners were nearby if there were any problems. All the facilities were very well maintained. The location is wonderful, sheltered and surrounded by stunning countryside, and the animals about the place were very friendly! The owners were incredibly welcoming and helpful.
