A selection of holiday bungalows in landscaped grounds, set in a wooded valley and divided by the River Seaton that flows from high up on the moor and down through the beautiful grounds of Rosecraddoc, this is an ideal location to tour the whole of Cornwall, South Devon and Dartmoor. South East Cornwall has some of the best and most varied countryside in the whole of the south west of England from the mists of Bodmin Moor, the creeks and valleys of the rivers to the secluded coves, sandy beaches and rocky outcrops of the coastline in the south. A 15-minute drive will take you to the spectacular South Cornwall Coastline and the famous fishing town of Looe. Just along the coast from Looe, nestles the tiny fishing village of Polperro with its harbour and narrow streets. There is a network of footpaths which pass through some of the most scenic countryside in the district, one of which leads directly from the village. The city of Plymouth is just 18 miles and is home to the award winning National Marine Aquarium. Our mild winters ensure that many plants are able to thrive in Cornwall and with this, the Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Eden Project are both within 25 miles. There are many historic houses to visit close by including Cotehele, Lanhydrock and Antony. Golf courses within 20 miles include the ’course that Jack built’ at St Mellion, Looe Bindown and Lanhydrock. Liskeard sports a leisure centre with swimming pool, squash, indoor bowling, badminton and fitness suite. From here you can take the lovely branch line which runs down to Looe through the wooded East Looe Valley. Nearby Siblyback Lake offers windsurfing, dinghy sailing, canoeing and fishing. Mount Edgcumbe Park with its 800 acres of parkland located on the Tamar estuary is also well worth a visit.
There is an on site bar and restaurant, The Village Inn, serving a wide range of alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages, and with an extensive menu including children’s meals. It also hosts a large TV screen, barbecues, patio area, pool room and children’s games, with live entertainment, quiz nights and karaoke held regularly during the high season.

NB: There is an unfenced stream in the grounds, 20 yards from the properties.

  1. The site and restaurant were very good and staff exstremely friendly and helpful but gaining access to the site was a bit tight down a narrow lane dodgy in the dark if you meet something coming the other way. June 2012.
  2. We booked this bungalow/cottage for a weekend trip to Cornwall to go to the Eden Project. It was a last minute thing but what a find. Good location for exploring most of Cornwall (might be a little East for Lands End maybe), handy little on-site pub/restaurant, clean and comfortable bungalow and handy parking space. Other than the slightly narrow access road (however this is normal for Cornwall), I cannot think of anything that is not great about this property (or indeed the Holiday Village it is in). We will certainly be back. July 2011.
  3. The property overall was clean and quiet, it had everything you needed in a chalet. The village inn on site was an added extra that did excellent meals. The bar staff and site superviser were very friendly. June 2011.
  4. This was a very late booking and we were a bit apprehensive about staying in a holiday village but this property was in a beautiful location. The property was more spacious than I had expected and set in a very pretty and well kept holiday village. Excellent value for money. Aug 2010.

  7. An excellent location from which to explore the area - too many things within a 30 minute drive to do in just one week - we will go back. Don’t miss the Sterts Theatre we saw an excellent production of Children of Eden. Other highlights were Morwellham victorian village, Hidden Valley theme park - based on the Crystal Maze, and Polperro fishing village. Good living space for 4 people although the master bedroom was a bit small - barely room to walk around the bed. Otherwise we were impressed with the standard of accommodation. Aug 2009.
