1. These terms and conditions should be read with the Booking Conditions and insurance information in our brochures or on our website. Especially note Sections 2, 4 and 7 of the Booking Conditions
2. Offer applies only to bookings for 2014 which are booked before 13th April 2014.
3. The low deposit payable under this offer is £25.
4. Does not apply to properties that sleep 10 or more.
5. The difference between the £25 low  deposit and the usual deposit shown in our main brochure or website is payable with the balance payment, which we must receive no later than 10 weeks before your booking starts, or at the time of cancellation if you cancel your booking. This payment will include all applicable charges as detailed on your booking confirmation, including any insurance premiums and any Ferry costs. If payment is not received in full on time, we can treat your booking as cancelled by you for a non-refundable reason. If this happens, you will be responsible for cancellation charges (as shown in our main brochure or our website) including any deferred Booking Fee, Personal Travel Insurance and Ferry crossings that you have chosen to buy, all of which must be paid immediately.

Property Description

Built in the late 1700s as the lock keepers home, detached and situated in its own generous gardens on the edge of the village. Central holiday location for Stratford upon Avon, Warwick and Kenilworth castles. All rooms (except bathroom) overlook the canal, locks and tow path. Shop 500 yards, pub 250 yards.

Ground floor: Living room with tiled floor. Dining room/kitchen with slate floor. 1 twin bedroom with beams and en-suite toilet. Steep stairs to first floor: 1 double bedroom with beams. Bathroom with claw foot slipper bath, shower cubicle and toilet.

Open fire in living room (initial fuel included). Gas central heating, gas, electricity, bed linen and towels included. DVD. Stereo/CD. Gas cooker. Microwave. Washing machine. Freezer. Wi-fi. Garden with sitting-out area and furniture. Garage (1 car). Parking (1 car). NB: Canal to front of property.

  1. This quaint old character cottage was comfortable and warm. It had a lovely large garden with sitting areas. A wonderful location for anyone who loves canals and narrow-boats, and a great base to visit many places of interest from. There’s also a good choice of local pubs within easy reach. June 2012.
  2. What a beautiful cottage. It felt that you were stepping back in time with the lovely open fire and exposed beams while being really well equipped. The cottage was in a lovely quiet location but was only a 5 minute drive to the nearest village that had everything you could need. There are several pubs nearby which do good food at a reasonable price. Great location for going out and about with many attraction only 20-30 minutes away. Can’t wait to go again next year. June 2012.

This was our second visit to this cottage and we took our 14 year old grandson with us, knowing how big the garden was we took tennis rackets etc and really enjoyed ourselves, we visited Kenilworth castle, Warwick castle and the heritage motor museum which were all in a half hour distance from the cottage. Lovely pubs, boats 5 minutes to right of cottage and Blue Lias is 15 minutes to left, both of which we had great meals at reasonable prices. We will definitely be back again next year. Cottage is a home from home. April 2012.

  8. We had a lovely time but the cottage is passed alot by walkers, cyclists. The lock was very busy and it was not the height of the season so in high summer i would imagine it to be very busy. If you take a dog with you the garden is not secure and is surrounded by a few trees. June 2011.
  9. A very well presented canal-side cottage retaining many original features whilst being fully modernised to meet the requirements of the modern holiday maker. Cosy and well appointed. A friendly towpath location with excellent local facilities for dining and entertainment. Excellent access to locations in both the East and West Midlands. A great escape from work-a-day pressures.   10. Lovely cosy cottage, great location, fantastic garden and sitting out area, loved the lights on the tree at night. Location was great, lots of walks to do and lots of pubs to visit and two local shops. Cottage had everything we needed and was very comfortable. A lovely holiday and we are thinking of going back in a couple of years time. May 2011.
  11. Lovely clean accommodation, overlooking the canal with trees on the other side. Large garden. Plenty of chances to chat with (largely holidaymakers) bargees on the canal as they pause to pass through the lock, and those walking the towpath. Pleasant English countryside abounds for walks. And some great pubs!!! April 2011.

The location was excellent, had a large flat garden at the back and when you went through to the front you were right on the canal tow path with the lock in front of you. the cottage was so welcoming, comfortable and very olde world, although it has central heating the owner supplied coal for the fire and we continued to buy more from the nearby garage as it was lovely in the evening, watching TV in front of the real fire. Two Boats pub is 5 mins on the tow path from the right of the cottage and Blue Lias pub 10 mins to the left of the cottage - supplied lovely meals at lunch or during the evenings. Will definitely be rebooking this cottage. March 2011.
