Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. Property was basic but comfortable. It was not as well equipped as other self catering cottages we have used but it was perfectly suitable for our purposes and its location was excellent. Good enclosed garden so no worries when letting the dog out. One of the reasons we chosen the cottage was because reviews by previous guests had mentioned that the pub in the village was dog friendly but disappointed to find that it had subsequently changed hands and this was no longer the case. June 2012.
  2. Although it was close to the main road there was very little traffic noise. The Ship Inn across the road was excellent for food, drink and hospitality. The fact that our dog was allowed in even though we were eating was brilliant. The cottage was a lovely quiet retreat. Sept 2011.
  3. Owners are friendly and very helpful. Aug 2011.
  4. Both compact in design and spacious, clean, comfortable, cosy and well equipped. Could happily live in the cottage and the dog loved it! Good base for the quieter lakes. Two night stay so ate at the Ship Inn - 100yds away, both nights + booked for an excellent breakfast on the Saturday morning. No problems with anything, would stay again if in the area. May 2011.
  5. Rosehill cottage was an ideal cottage for two. Well equipped and a good location to access the lakes. Brochure pictures do not show how lovely the accommodation is. April 2011.
  6. The Cottage was lovely, peaceful, dog walking information was useful. Pub was friendly and the food OK. Overall a good location and good value for money. Beware the smoke detectors! All 4 of them! When cooking a full English. April 2011.
  7. A good little cottage with all the basics required for a stay. Some of the eclectic furniture is a little passed its best, but the cottage overall is very clean, tidy, warm and welcoming. Lashings of hot water which is just what you need after a hard day walking. Excellent location just outside Cockermouth - able to access all areas with relative ease. Owners friendly and helpful without being intrusive. Very friendly cat!(I like cats). Overall I really enjoyed my stay, would certainly come back again and recommend to others. Perhaps needs a little TLC now to keep up the standard, some of the furniture is passed its best and just those extra touches would move it into the excellent bracket. March 2011.
  8. We were delighted with the cottage, quaint yet modern it was perfect for us and our little dog. It had all the amenities we required and was clean, warm and comfortable. The location was good for us as we wanted a quieter break and was perfectly placed for the north lakes area. We would definitely recommend it. March 2011.
  9. It was a very pretty cottage, and the owner was very welcoming. Clean and homely. I would recommend it to my best friends. Nov 2010.
  10. Warm and friendly feeling with all the bits and pieces you need. Oct 2010.
  11. Cosy quiet cottage great for relaxing. Oct 2010.
  12. It was so homely and cosy with every thing you need. Aug 2010.
  13. It was very roomy, well presented and had everything you needed for your stay. July 2010.
  14. Ideal walking area, house clean with everything that was needed was there for a perfect holiday. Even fresh eggs from the family chickens! Thanks will return. Oct 2009.
  15. A cottage that’s stylish and cosy at the same time and within easy reach of some great days out. May 2009.
  16. The cottage was very homely and cosy, we we’re made very welcome. This was made all the better by the excellent weather we had. April 2009.
  17. The accommodation was beautiful, it meet the requirements needed. Feb 2009.
  18. Interior of property was exactly as shown on website - very clean. Disappointing building to look at from the outside, needs a fair bit of attention. Lakeland Sheep and Wool Centre - approx 10 minutes from property - very interesting and reasonably priced entry to the farm show. Keswick - lovely town, interesting, Winderemere - various boat trips - did a 45 minute trip The Ship pub and restaurant, excellent food, friendly staff. July 2009.
  19. Great location. Sept 2009.
  20. Rosehill Cottage is a cosy, well-equipped cottage ideal for a couple looking for an "away from it all" break. We particularly enjoyed the location which was very convenient for the Lakes, the Cumbrian Coast and, slightly further, Hadrian’s Wall. There is a pub in the village with nearby Cockermouth providing a wider range of places to eat and drink. Aug 2009.
