Property Description

Romers Farm consists of two semi-detached properties situated in the owner’s grounds on a working farm, in the village of Bockleton, near to the historic market town of Tenbury Wells. The former Hop Kiln and Wainhouse have been sympathetically converted, retaining many original features, and provide two spacious and comfortable holiday properties. This is an excellent base from which to explore Worcestershire, Shropshire and Herefordshire with a wealth of activities. A short drive takes you to Ludlow, famous for its castle, festivals, quaint streets, shops and open markets; it also has an abundance of restaurants and eateries for fine dining, some Michelin starred, and it is a definite must for a visit. The area boasts an abundance of National Trust properties including Berrington Hall, Croft Castle, Hampton Court Gardens and the Brockhampton Estate, all within easy driving distance. Enjoy a day out to the cathedral cities of Worcester, Hereford and Gloucester and the abbey at Tewkesbury. For the more active there is golf, horse riding and carp fishing available locally. Offa’s Dyke and the Malvern Hills, for serious walkers, are within easy reach. Book lovers can enjoy a trip to the renowned book town of Hay-on-Wye whilst theatre lovers can venture out to Stratford-upon-Avon, the birthplace of William Shakespeare, and the home of Anne Hathaway with her beautiful cottage. Perhaps you would prefer to sit and relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of the unspoilt countryside and woodlands close by, or observe the activities on this working farm. Whatever you choose to do, one holiday may not be enough! Shops, pubs and restaurants 4 miles. NB: Properties 25341 and 25340 can be booked together to accommodate up to 18 guests.

Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. Great for a group - the kitchen was really well set out and the open plan set up worked well with small kids. More/larger signs outside would help, we got lost in the dark! Nov 2012.
  2. Loved this property situated on a farm in the middle of the country with warm welcoming hosts, it had everything for all the family to enjoy along with the pig the ducks and 2 well behaved sheepdogs truly great. July 2012.
  3. One of the best properties we have ever stayed in! We loved the that it was on a working farm so near to lots of places of interest. April 2012.
  4. A lovely property on a working farm. The lambing season might not suit some, but this was right up our street! The surrounding countryside is beautiful with good walks and the property is within easy reach of several towns. We found the owners extremely pleasant and helpful. We would return to this property without hesitation. March 2012.
  5. Spacious, light, charming and very well equipped. Hosts are delightful. Note that the property is on a farm with cattle sheds close by, tractors coming and going and farmyard smells reminding you where you are. This was a bonus for us as we saw a working farm with sheep and cattle and working dogs happening all around us. We were a group of friends away for a creative break, and the accommodation suited us perfectly with 3 en suites, all double or twin rooms, dishwasher and plenty of kitchen equipment. Despite cold winds and March rain, the house was warm and toasty. We will go back again. Feb 2012.
  6. This was the perfect property for us - spacious enough for 2 families, inside and out. Matching Twin and double (en-suite) rooms, so no arguments or drawing straws for the best rooms. A farm with animals to look at and a pig that liked to feed on scraps - on site entertainment for the children. Brilliant! March 2012.
  7. The property was over and above what we expected, we were all very pleased with the property and location. Jan 2012.
  8. Beautiful house, and perfect for our holiday, and 2 families, lots of room and spotlessly clean! Wish I could pick the house up and move it back home so I could live in it :-) Great location too for exploring locally. May 2011.
  9. The property was even more spacious than we expected it to be for all 10 of us. A great lay-out of the downstairs too. April 2011.
  10. Very comfortable and spacious accommodation. The owners were very welcoming and it was a real bonus to be able to witness the lambing taking place in the barn next door. March 2011.
  11. The property was very clean and well furnished as well as being very cosy. Jan 2011.
  12. The accommodation was to a very good standard. It was spacious and was ideal for children as well as adults. Feb 2011.
  13. Very clean, new, spacious very accommodating for 10 adults and 2 small dogs - have nice quality of fixtures and furnishings even down to the beds. Loved that the barn had a down stairs WC, upstairs bathroom and 3 en-suites. The owners were very helpful and kind and very welcoming. We have recommended to other friends and would go back. Jan 2011.
  14. We went as 3 families. The large open plan in the main room with TV area, Seating area and dining area meant that everyone could do their own thing whilst remaining in the same room. Dec 2010.
  15. This was one of the best cottages i have stayed in, very clean everything you could need, we had a lovely family gathering in a perfect setting. Oct 2010.
  16. Wonderful accommodation, thoughtfully laid out, beautifully presented and perfect for our family getaway, with downstairs accommodation for the grandparents, large open plan kitchen/dining room/lounge for the kids to play and us to entertain - and all excellent value - would certainly recommend. Sept 2010.
