Property Description

Experience life on a 900 acre working sheep and mixed arable farm. Ideally located in the countryside with stunning views, this is a conservation area, of interest to bird watchers and animal lovers alike. Adjacent to a nursery school, with a shared childrens play area, an ideal base for exploring Kent and East Sussex. Walkers and cyclists can enjoy the 5 miles of tracks and paths around the farm. Visit the historic Cinque port of Rye, with its cobbled streets, antique shops and tea rooms. Also on the farm are the old cliffs of Rye, and there are miles of sandy beaches and dunes at Camber. Coarse fishing available by arrangement. Visit Hastings, Bodiam Castle, Carr Taylor Vineyards, Great Dixter House and Gardens and the Kent and East Sussex vintage steam railway. Shops 2 miles, pub 1/2 mile. Properties 19965 and 19966 can be booked together to sleep 6+4.

Ground floor: 2 bedrooms: 1 double with en-suite shower room and toilet, 1 twin. Shower room with toilet. First floor: Living room with double sofa bed/second living room all with beams and wooden floor. Kitchen. Separate toilet.

Enclosed garden with sitting-out area and furniture. Parking (3 cars).

  1. The cottage takes some beating. The location is amazing the owner very nice, very friendly. An extremely relaxing place to be - a breath of fresh air - literally - with many lovely places to visit within very easy reach. Rye is fascinating, with a lovely outside tea room to visit. It took a while to get a grips with the layout of the roads in the town. Hastings not too far away is delightful especially the old part - very quaint many lovely streets and quaint shops. A visit to Battle is a must to see the Abbey and the site of the Battle of Hastings. Not forgetting Camber not far away - a great holiday. Cottage highly recommended. June 2012.

  4. This was a really good conversion of a former agricultural building and the architect deserves congratulations for producing such an attractive and efficient layout. The position is wonderful, with excellent views and a wealth of birds and other wildlife. There is an outstanding range of walks that can be started from the cottage. May 2012.
  5. A beautiful cottage, warm and cosy with plenty of space and everything you could need - we even managed to cook a full roast dinner with all the trimmings. The location is great - beautiful rural views in all directions yet only a few minutes from Winchelsea (nice deli and coffee shop and fascinating houses and church) and Rye (great climb up the church tower), and the sea (although watch out for the mud at low tide). Loved the area, loved the cottage. April 2012.

  7. Tastefully furnished cottage. Quiet peaceful location. Close to Rye which is a quaint town with lovely walks by the harbour, good for bird watchers. Excellent pub food within walking distance and another The Two Sawyers at Pett is a must. Oct 2011.
  8. This really is a very comfortable, cosy cottage, set in beautiful countryside and in easy reach of most places. It has a secure garden which was wonderful for our dog. Would definitely consider going back. Oct 2011.
  9. The Cottage was well equipped, it was clean and comfortable. Owners friendly. Could have done with a wardrobe in the twin room. Do not rely on sat nav as it is a lot further down the road. Sept 2011.
