Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. Cottage was lovely with log burning fire but could do with a few little extra’s, doesn’t need much to make it perfect. Location bit more more rural than we thought but still had a great time and pub in Seathwaite was very nice. Absence of mobile signal was a plus and also the absolute peace and quiet and lack of street lights a delight, would definitely return. Oct 2012.
  2. Essential to take basic food items (tea, coffee, milk, bread, etc) if you arrive late or do not wish to drive out again after initial arrival. June 2012.
  3. Excellent food at the Newfield Inn just up the road, lovely warm cosy cottage. Oct 2011.
  4. Nicely situated in the Dudden Valley with stunning scenery. Sheep and wild lifer at your doorstep. No mobile signal (peace and quiet), pay phone in property, or phonebox 100yards down road. Very peaceful. Local pub with good food and real ales. 2nd time here probably back again next year. Brilliant walks, local and other. Sept 2011.
  5. Stunning location, beautiful property. Looking forward to our next visit. Aug 2011.
  6. Wonderful location with lots of walks direct from the door, lovely period property, take your own barbeque and have lots of meals in the pretty garden. July 2011.
  7. Very friendly people and an excellent cottage in a stunning area. Oct 2010.
  8. Having an open fire for extra heat. March 2010.
  9. Wonderful location, very good food at the local pub. Good walks, the tourist information shop in Broughton in Furnace very helpful and recomended so wonderful walks. The walk from the post office through the woods is well worth trying and not to steep. The walk to Broughton mill is very good but steep going in places. Mar 2010.
  10. The kitchen was a very good size and well equipped, and its good to soak in the bath after a long hike. Oct 2009.
  11. The front door opened onto the road so anyone with small children or dogs should bear this in mind. The road is very quiet and the surroundings are beautiful. The stairs are wide and very easy to get up. The cottage was very warm and cosy. Sept 2009.
  12. Plenty of cupboard space in kitchen. Plenty of fuel for coal fire. Nice garden. Under cover parking for car. Aug 2009.
  13. Duddon Valley is a lovely and perfect location for walking the Southern Fells. July 2009.
  14. Lovely situation, owner accommodating in letting us take an extra dog. Fantastic pub down the road with good food and atmosphere. Dec 2008.

  16. If peace and quiet are what you want, you can’t get quieter than here......all you can hear at night are the sheep!! Aug 2007.
  17. Fabulous cottage in ideal location. Lovely and tranquil surroundings - ideal base for a walking holiday with the dogs. We will definitely be back. Dec 2007.
