Excellent base for exploring Peak District

A traditional stone detached cottage, situated on the River Derwent, just 0.5 miles from the Peak National Park, it opens the door to miles of spectacular scenery and walks, whilst being just 3 miles from Matlock with the Heights of Abraham and Gulliver’s Kingdom. There are 2 friendly pubs in the village both serving food and the Peak Rail and Redhouse Horse and Carriage Museum are within 0.5 miles. Bakewell is 6 miles with Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall an easy drive. There are water sports at Carsington Water, pot holing at Castleton, Go Ape adventure course and Alton Towers within easy reach. Shops and restaurant 900 yards, pubs 75 yards.

Ground floor: Living room. Dining room/kitchen with tiled floor. First floor: 2 double bedrooms both with wooden floor, one with single bunk above (for alternative sleeping only). Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet.

Open fire in living room (initial fuel included). Central heating, electricity, gas, bed linen and towels included. Travel cot. High chair. Freesat TV. DVD and small library. Gas hob. Electric oven. Microwave. Washing machine. Dishwasher. Freezer. Patio with furniture. Parking 75 yards (on riverside). No smoking.

  7. On arrival is was quite clear that the interior of the property was spotless. The cottage contained absolutely everything that we needed. There was even a fresh packet of biscuits and milk in the fridge for our use. Top marks to the owners. We will certainly consider returning to this property on another occasion and will almost certainly return to your website to look for other properties. March 2010.
