Nearby, the elegant cathedral town of Chichester, 10 minutes drive, has a Roman villa, popular theatre, cinema complex, leisure centre with indoor pool, and a host of restaurants, inns and shops. Goodwood, with its historic house, famous race course and motor racing events is also nearby, as is the open air Weald and Downland Museum. Historic Arundel is within easy reach, with a castle and Wildfowl and Wetlands Park. Alternatively, Portsmouth is a 25 minute drive, with shopping centre, a Naval dockyard and regular ferry service to the Isle of Wight. Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. Nice comfy house in an excellent location, with many nice extras i.e. Wi Fi, Ipod docking station, multi charger for Ipod & mobile phones. This is not a holiday cottage but a home from home. March 2012.
  2. Directions we were given took us in from the west of Shore Road (which is usually inaccessible at high tide) not from the east which is often accessible at high tide. Check with the owner. Sept 2011.
  3. Location is everything and that is perfect in this property. So peaceful and wonderful when the tide comes in twice a day! May 2011.

  12. It was like going into someone’s home - very well equipped and very comfortable. Wonderful views from Lounge and master bedroom - which had a very comfortable, large bed. Only drawback was no loo on middle floor (living area) and a lot of stairs for anyone with bad legs. Oct 2009.
  13. Clean and well presented. Excellent help and advice from the local housekeeper. Quiet and peaceful and with excellent facilities. June 2009.

  15. The perfect spot to unwind - watch the tides coming in and out, lovely walks, log fires, catch up on films, books and games with the children. Lots of family activities in the area over half-term gave us some great trips out. The housekeeper was wonderfully helpful for any queries. Feb 2009.

  18. Rigger’s Cottage is one of the best equipped holiday homes I have ever stayed in and the owners and caretakers were exceptionally helpful. There was a huge amount of information about the local area, and a brilliant selection of books. Even if the weather had been dreadful, there was plenty to entertain us in the house. March 2008.
  19. A lovely property in a wonderful location with everything we needed. Being able to bring the dog was the deciding factor in choosing this property. March 2007.
