Property Description

Beautifully presented throughout, this splendid Grade II listed Regency town house offers wonderful views to historical Arundel Castle, which is only 50 yards away. Located in the heart of this quaint town, it is only a 2-minute walk from plentiful antique shops, pubs, restaurants, cathedral and lido, and near the Wildfowl and Wetlands for birdwatching. In keeping with the Regency era, the furnishings cleverly complement the period style, and are carefully co-ordinated and styled to enhance features such as the ornamental fire surrounds and large windows. The holiday accommodation is spacious, set over four floors, and with families in mind, there is a games room on the lower ground floor. Arundel is recognised for its castle and variety of historic buildings in a small area. Out of around 500 buildings in the conservation area, many are listed. The beautiful castle is referred to in the Domesday Book in 1086, and has been occupied by the Dukes of Norfolk and their families for over 850 years. The Victorian Catholic Cathedral was designed by Joseph Hansom, who also designed the Hansom cab.
Climping Beach is only a 5-minute drive, or slightly further, Worthing, Elmer or Littlehampton. Bustling Brighton is within 20 minutes’ drive, within the ornate Royal Pavilion, The Lanes for interesting artefacts, plentiful theatres, art galleries, extensive shopping, the marina with harbourside dining, and many amusements for all ages along the beach. Visit Chichester, with its beautiful ornate cathedral, theatre, pedestrianised shopping, tea rooms, harbour tours, Goodwood or Fontwell racing. Also within easy reach is the picturesque harbour village of Bosham with antiques, emporium and waterside cafe, or naval Portsmouth with Spinnaker Tower, designer shopping and waterside dining. In addition, various National Trust homes and gardens, excellent walking along the South Downs, golf, sailing, surfing, riding, and cycling can all be enjoyed nearby. Shops 50 yards.

Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. This property was stunning, I was overwhelmed when I first saw it. It was in an immaculate condition and we had everything we needed including after dinner chocolates!! It was just such a beautiful property, everything within the house was in keeping with the period of the property and the beds in particular were very comfortable. We had planned to go out for a meal one night but opted to stay in as we couldn’t bear to leave the house whilst we had it! Jan 2012.
  2. Beautifully furnished house, very comfortable living accommodation situated within easy walking distance of pubs, restaurants, castle and interesting shops to explore. This house would make a great venue for a large gathering particularly at Christmas time. Sept 2011.
  3. Location size and ambiance. March 2010.
  4. Property was luxurious & well positioned. Bedrooms especially were fabulous. Perhaps slight lack of bathrooms for modern days. Main problem was difficulty parking nearby to unload etc & no off-street parking. Oct 2009.
  5. The property was well maintained, well positioned and a good size. Would benefit from mentioning the piano in the literature so that we could bring our music. Aug 2009.
  6. The house was wonderful, lovely spacious rooms and period furnishings to compliment the style. Neat little sun trap garden with a great view. Extras supplies in the kitchen and bathrooms which many places skimp on. Very well placed for the town. We were especially pleased with the period paintings, ornaments and quality of the furnishings - again some places don’t always provide the best. Aug 2009.
  7. Castle View was fantastic. The attention to detail throughout the property was exceptional. The proximity to the town was great and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The owners were very helpful and rang back straight away when we had questions prior to arriving. We would recommend this house to anyone. Jan 2009.
