Property Description

This light, airy, comfortable holiday house, one of a row of three, has its own balcony with fine views of Lake Windermere and beyond, and is ideal for exploring the lakes. Travel north to Ambleside, Grasmere, or even Ullswater (via Kirkstone Pass, the highest road in the Lake District at 1489ft), east to Coniston and the Furness Fells beyond, or south to Newby Bridge and Fell Foot Park (NT). All local amenities, including shops, pubs, restaurants, a cinema, equestrian centre, and boat trips from the bay, are close at hand, and the lake is within a 15-minute walk. Take the ferry across Lake Windermere to Sawrey and visit Hill Top (NT), Hawkshead and Coniston. Bowness makes an ideal starting point for touring.

First floor: 2 bedrooms: 1 double, 1 twin. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet. Second floor: Living room with patio doors and sofa bed. Kitchen. Z-bed if required.

  5. The accommodation was excellent, it was a perfect base to explore the Lakes. The view from the balcony was lovely, we were fortunate to be able to sit on the balcony during the week and take in the amazing views. Overall, the house suited us to the ground and we will definitely be booking it for sometime next year. Aug 2011.
  6. This cottage is beautifully clean, in a great position with everything you need. The view is gorgeous on a clear day, unfortunately we happened to visit on the wettest August ever! However this meant we spent more time in the cottage and we made the best out of a bad situation in lovely surroundings. The pictures dont do this cottage justice. We will be back next year. Aug 2011.
  7. It was a very handy base for visiting the area. Access to other places is possible without always using the car. The upstairs lounge with view of the lake is a big draw. July 2011.
  8. Central position for the lakes. A must for all ages is the Beatrix Potter Musuem & a ride on the lakes. July 2011.

The flat was of a good size with comfortable accommodation, a washing machine would be helpful if you have children because due to the british climate there may be times when your clothes are muddy and would benefit from a clean. Very pleased with the overall space and the block was quiet. Bowness is an excellent spot to stay and access all the lakes has to offer. I would certainly recommend this accommodation to anyone. May 2011.
  10. The property was well equipped in the kitchen as there was everything we required in the few days we was there. The view was amazing over looking the lake. The property was really warm over the three days over Christmas in the cold snowy weather. Dec 2010.
