Situated right at the heart of England and located within 2000 acres of the owners’ grounds, Pumpkin Cottage is the perfect location for guests wishing to really explore the area. Pumpkin Cottage can be found nestled in the gardens of Newnham Paddox, which were created and landscaped by the world famous Lancelot ‘Capabilty’ Brown between 1745 and 1753, and guests are encouraged to explore and enjoy this wonderful landscape which possesses the beauty and splendour that only a mature landscape can do. Ideal for guests who enjoy walking, the trees in leaf, many rare and ancient, blending green, yellow and copper tones are hard to imagine until you can see them. On the ground, dazzling displays of daffodils, bluebells, rhododendrons and water lilies succeed one another with the seasons, making this the perfect year round destination. Guests will also be able to enjoy a spot of fishing on the banks of the two magnificent lakes that are stocked with carp and are situated within the grounds meaning there is no need to leave this amazing garden and grounds for days on end. Situated on a working farm and stables, guests who enjoy animal and wildlife spotting will not be disappointed. There are cattle, horses, family cats and dogs alongside swallows in the summer, and herons, falcons and songbirds can be spotted in their natural environment at any time of day in any season. For guests who do wish to travel and enjoy a day out exploring the local area there is plenty to see and do. All within an easy drive, guests will be able to visit the cathedral cities of Warwick and Oxford as well as Rugby, Leamington Spa with its chic bistros, wine bars and boutiques or the historic market town of Stratford-upon-Avon which is steeped in history and has the famous association with William Shakespeare. There are also many picturesque Cotswold towns which make for a super day out and include Banbury, Broadway, Moreton-in-Marsh, Shipston-on-Stour, Chipping Camden and Chipping Norton and which can be reached within a one to two hour drive. Shop 4 miles, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
