Property Description

A little piece of heaven, Polmear Barn is a magnificent, detached holiday property with stunning views. It is just a few miles from some of the West Country’s prettiest coastline with excellent surfing, pretty coves and dramatic coastal walks. Adjacent to the owners’ home, it is lovingly converted and retains a huge amount of character whilst offering a stylish setting for family and friends to escape from it all. The interior is spacious with great attention to detail to make for a wonderful welcoming experience. Large French doors lead from both the living room and kitchen/dining-room out onto a sunny patio and pretty gardens, the perfect spot for al-fresco dining and summer barbecues. In winter the house is really cosy with the benefit of underfloor heating throughout and the charm of a fabulous wood-burning stove to add to the ambience. The pretty town of Camelford is just a 1-mile walk, where a good selection of pubs, restaurants, shops and of course freshly baked Cornish pasties can be found. The famous 18-hole Bowood Park golf course, regarded as one of the south west’s premier parkland courses, is nearby, as is the start of the exquisite Camel Trail. The pretty fishing villages of Padstow, Port Isaac and Rock are also a must to visit and mystical Tintagel with the legendary King Arthur’s Castle is just 15 minutes’ drive. For a great day out Crealy Adventure Park, the famous Eden Project, and the wild beauty of Dartmoor and Bodmin moors are all within easy driving distance. Whether surfing, walking the coastal path, cycling, playing golf, fishing or simply relaxing, this stunning location has something for everyone. Shops and pub 1 mile.

Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. We went as a group of friends and this property is beautiful. It is also very large which was great for being sociable. Not a massive amount in camelford, but lots of things to do near by and 2 decent local pubs in the town. May 2012.
  2. The cottage was spacious, light and comfortable. It worked for our group of ten, and was a great base to see North Cornwall. Camelford is also a lovely village with a good pub within walking distance. Sept 2011.
  3. A very spacious and well equipped house with great attention to design and detail. Ideal for a big gathering and we’d certainly go back. Aug 2011.
  4. Lovely property, nice friendly owners, highly recommended! July 2011.
  5. There is plenty of space. We were a party of 8 adults, 3 children 5 and under and one babe in arms. We all had very spacious berooms and almost all on suite bathrooms. Room to watch TV or site an play games inside or out weather permitting. We had some friends join us for a BBQ and it went very well. July 2010.
  6. The property over all was fantastic, We’ve stayed in a number of properties over the last few years and this has to be the best, very well kept plenty of room for the family and kept to a very high standard. Certainly looking at booking again for next year! The owners were very helpful also! July 2010.
  7. Fantastic looking house, lived up to expectations. Could not fault it. July 2010.
  8. Could not fault this wonderful holiday home. Much thought has gone into ensuring that all needs are met. Do not hesitate, if this accommodation is available, book it! May 2010.
  9. Very well equipped and comfortable. The owners had thought of everything except a coffee table in the lounge. Feb 2010.
  10. The bedrooms are very spacious and each have there own style, all fixtures and fittings are of the highest quality. The kitchen/dinning room are very large and very modern and stylish, but at the same time extremely comfortable and user-friendly. The fantastic dinning table (made from one of the owners own fallen trees) deserves a special mention - it is fabulous. Sept 2009.
  11. The photograph on the website doesn’t do justice to the space and quality of the property - we loved it. Aug 2009.
  12. Large open space tastefully decorated with a quality feel. July 2009.
  13. The owners of the barn were extremely friendly and helpful and very willing to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. We couldn’t fault the cleanliness of the accommodation. A cream tea was provided for us on arrival which was very welcome. June 2009
  14. Excellent luxury accommodation with plenty of space inside and out for larger parties/families. Location was great for exploring Padstow, Rock, Polzeath and local area. The hosts were particularly nice, really helpful but not overbearing at all. April 2009.
