Just six miles from a sandy beach, these four delightful, comfortable properties peacefully lie in the heart of 108 acres of wild flower-strewn meadows and woodland in a superb valley near the mountains of Snowdonia. There is a wealth of wildlife including red kites, buzzards and owls. The properties have been renovated and tastefully furnished to a very high standard. Two of the properties have their own well-planted secure gardens, whilst the others share a beautiful Mediterranean-style courtyard garden. Visitors can enjoy superb walks through the grounds and surrounding countryside. A river with dramatic waterfalls runs through the estate a quarter of a mile away, offering the chance of a swim in the natural pool below the falls, and a one and a half mile stretch of fly fishing. Visit the owners’ stud of miniature Shetland ponies, including the delightful foals. All properties are cosily heated throughout, making them ideal for holidays at any time of the year.
There is a superb selection of restaurants and pubs locally, including Castell Deuraeth, which offers outstanding food and service in a superb setting. Village shop and Post Office in Llan Ffestiniog and several supermarkets including Tesco in Porthmadog. Five miles away lies the fascinating Portmeirion, with its warm-coloured, romantic, Italianate buildings and exotic plants. Porthmadog (8 miles) is the gateway to the Lleyn Peninsula, one of Wales’ five Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with dramatic cliffs, sandy beaches and popular resorts. Within a short drive are the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland light railways. Harlech has the acclaimed Royal Saint David’s golf course, one of Britain’s most impressive castles and miles of most wonderful sandy beaches. Wide range of tourist attractions for all ages in easy reach. Sea fishing, quad biking, white-water rafting and horse riding locally. Shop ½ mile.

  1. The cottage was well equipped with everything you needed e.g. more than enough cooking utensils and spices. Owner put toilet rolls, soap, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, foil, cling-film, toiletries in bathroom all things that when you normally go self catering you end up having to buy from the supermarket. Saved us a fortune. Dogs had a massive garden to run about in. Thanks for a wonderful holiday. May 2012.

  4. My daughter had just returned from Afghanistan and wanted a walking holiday in the wind and rain. We chose Wales and had a great holiday. The cottage was better than expected and our hosts were very friendly and helpful. We took our two dogs and they had the best time ever. Only small criticism no cell phone signal, and internet WI Fi very temperamental. Would visit same cottage again. Oct 2011.
  5. The cottage is spacious and tidy with everything you need, but a real country cottage. The owner is lovely and very helpful with advice on eateries and dog sitting services, we were made very welcome! Surrounded by fields, ponies and visiting peacocks! A real retreat! Aug 2011.

  7. Comfortable cottage in peaceful location. Great garden. Book in advance if planning to go on Snowdonia Mountain Railway as gets booked up very quickly, and chances are you won’t get a ticket if you just turn up on the day when peak season. May 2011.

  13. The property felt immediately homely and comforting, it stood in a brilliant location amidst Snowdonia National Park and was close to various amenities. I was also very impressed by the fact that everything in the kitchen was provided including the barbecue set. July 2010.

Only problem was it was necessary to drive everywhere, with only a local shop within walking distance. No pub or restaurant near and Llan Festiniog was all for sale!! May 2010.
