Set in an AONB on the edge of the village of Pensilva, these beautifully converted holiday properties stand amongst the most spectacular scenery in Cornwall. The stepping stone to exploring the beauty, cultural and wildlife of south east Cornwall is literally at the end of your drive via the footpaths which take you through unspoilt wooded riverbanks, where herons and kingfishers dwell.
There is so much to do in the area - you can fish for blue sharks, ride a steam train, take a river cruise, play championship golf or visit some of the finest historic houses in the country. A short drive will take you to the South Cornwall Heritage Coast with beautiful walks from Polperro and Looe to Talland with secluded sandy coves. Don’t miss the windswept uplands of Bodmin Moor shrouded in mystery with burial chambers and holy wells, giant stones and Bronze Age settlements. Shops and pubs 1 mile.

  1. Although compact, the Piggery is well thought out as accommodation for two which feels cosy rather than cramped. The fittings are stylish and modern and the foot thick walls and double glazing are great against the varied elements. For seasoned holiday cottage-goers all I need say is: sharp kitchen knives and plenty of towels with no clutter from discarded books, videos or board games. It is also without doubt the cleanest property that we’ve stayed at. The property is a little off the beaten track but there are plenty of things to do locally. The Caradon World Heritage site at Minions makes for a stunning moorland walk, Kartworld (go-kart racing)and the adjacent Adrenalin Quarry (490m zip line!) are almost too much fun, and the guided tour at Carnglaze Caverns is very interesting. Reasonable access to the A38/A390 allows day trips to the Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan (wow!) as well as charming (if a bit crowded) harbour villages such as Mevagissey and Fowey. (NB. Fowey has boat hire and a minibus service to get you back up the cliff to the car park). Aug 2011.
  2. We had a really wonderful holiday at Tokenbury Manor Piggery. The warm, friendly welcome we received on arrival from the caretakers, made our day after a long journey. What a lovely property in a really fantastic location for lots of local walks & ideal for getting out & about to all sorts of places. So nice, comfortable, quiet & relaxing to return to after all our long adventurous days out, exploring both the North & South Coasts, Moors & even parts of Devon. Very comfortable bed, fab new shower & well designed kitchen which is ideal for self catering. All in all a brilliant holiday. We will be back! July 2011.
  3. This property far exceeded our expectations from the description given. It was far bigger than it looked. The over bath shower has now been updated to a superb walk in shower. For such a small space, the kitchen area is very well equipped with all new modern appliances & very well designed. Lovely outside space for sitting out in good weather. Smoke alarm is a little sensitive as warned, but stable type door is perfect for combatting this. July

  6. We originally booked the Piggery but on arrival were told that the Milking Parler was also empty and that we could choose which one we wanted to stay in. Both cottages were ideal for what we wanted, but the milking parler had patio doors overlooking the open countryside so we chose that. Will return to either one in the future. Oct 2010.

  10. A very comfortable cottage set in a very peaceful area, but also within driving distance of many of Cornwall’s attractions. The cottage was in a very peaceful area just what I wanted and was very comfortable. July 2009.
