Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. Lovely cottage which was very clean and comfortable. Thoughtful touches on arrival, homemade cakes, mince tarts and chocolates... how good is that. Nearby pub serves excellent food, first time we have ever left food because we couldn’t finish it. The cottage was warm at all times with central heating and cosy log burner. Couldn’t ask for more! Dec 2012.
  2. Accommadation ideally situated in the village and provided an extremely warm and comfortable short break. The owner was friendly and hospitable. On arrival we were greeted with home baked cakes. Nice touch. Would stay there again. Nov 2012.
  3. The cottage is all on one level which is very good for people with mobility issues. There’s two lovely bathrooms although the en-suite has a bath and no over-bath shower but it’s easy to share the other bathroom as this is off the hall. There’s good outside space and although the owners live next door there’s no issues with intrusion at all in fact the contrary I think they try and stay out of your way unless you want a chat etc. and very friendly they are too. The cottage is in the village and only a 100m level walk to the excellent local pub, we ate there twice. The cottage is ideally placed for walks from the door or car trips to the surrounding areas and Appleby was a much nicer village than expected. Oct 2012.
  4. The best equipped holiday property that we have experienced with very good attention to detail. June 2012.
  5. The log fire was a good feature, efficient with a supply of logs which lasted us the week. Good shower. The birds were fed daily and a good interest. The Settle Carlisle railway is accessible at Appleby and a good trip. Easy access to many areas and the local pub, 3 mins away, did good food with some nights having 3 courses under £10. April 2012.
  6. We loved the wood burning stove and the fact it was lit and the property warm and welcoming - and the ginger cake! It was a lovely place to stay. Jan 2012.
  7. Very clean cottage with big log burner which made it very cosy for a New Year break. It was quite comfortable without being luxurious and both the bathroom and shower room were very well done. There is quite a small television for the size of the room but that would be less important in the summer when the outdoor area would be more important. The garden is shared with other properties but has a seat outside and a big attraction for us was the number of birds coming to the many feeders, including a large family of pheasants. Dec 2011.
  8. Excellent coach house conversion, good quality fixtures and fittings, good log burner, good local pub food, close to Lakes, Fells and Dales. Well recommended. Oct 2011.
  9. Great cottage with everything you need when on holiday including a log burner. Owners very friendly and helpful. Good location for Lakes and other local attractions. Aug 2011.
  10. This property is spotless. Everything provided that you might need, and would certainly recommend to family and friends. July 2011.
  11. Owners very considerate to our needs and always friendly. May 2011.
  12. Fantastic cottage, the log burner and homemade cakes more than made up for the weather. Everything we needed was there and Christine and Tony were very helpful. Feb 2011.
  13. The property has been done up to a high standard. The kitchen has everything you need and the woodburner was perfect for a winters break. Jan 2011.
  14. The standard and the finish of this lovely cottage was excellent, definitely not done on the cheap for the rental market. The beds were comfortable, the bathrooms very clean and both bath and shower a delight to use. The kitchen was well kitted out with everything you could possibly need. Overall the cottage was extremely comfortable, cosy and warm. I will definitely be going back again. The location was ideal either for those on a walking holiday or like us for a quiet get away. The local pub, only 200 yds away served the most amazing food if you did not wish to cook. For a small cottage I do not think you would find better. Sep 2010.
  15. Well presented and equipped to a high standard. Aug 2010.
  16. The overall standard inside the cottage was excellent and the log burning stove was a real asset. Aug 2010.
  17. The bathroom and shower room were both finished to a high standard. The kitchen was small, but well equipped. The wood burner was lots of fun and added a bit of character to the sleek finish. July 2010.
