Property Description

Penybont Cottage is a purpose built, modern property offering very comfortable accommodation in the grounds of the owner’s traditional Welsh country home. Situated within a mile of the coast at Clarach, 5 miles from the golden beaches of Borth and Ynyslas, and only 2 miles from Aberystwyth. Ideally placed to explore the beautiful surroundings and attractions of mid Wales. Shop and pub 1 mile.

Ground floor: Living room with patio doors/dining room/kitchen. Utility room. Separate toilet. Open tread stairs to first floor: 2 bedrooms: 1 double (5ft) with en-suite shower room and toilet, 1 twin with additional single. Shower room with toilet.

Calor gas central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Travel cot. High chair. Satellite TV. Video and small library. DVD. Stereo/CD. Electric cooker. Microwave. Washer/dryer. Freezer. Wi-fi. Garden with decking area and furniture. Barbecue. Ample parking. Pets free of charge. No smoking. NB: There is a 2ft deep culvert running in front of the property.

  1. The owner lives in the house next door. He was friendly but unobtrusive. There was a welcome pack of tea, milk, biscuits and crisps (for our three children) awaiting us on arrival. It was very welcoming. If we visit this part of Wales again in the future we would certainly return to stay at this lovely cottage. Aug 2012.

  6. This cottage was excellent value for money for one weeks stay in August. The cottage was clean and comfortable and private. The owner John was a really nice guy and very helpful and obliging. To the north are the sands at Ynlass and Aberdovey, to the south the beach at Llandranog is wonderful and to the East the Elan valley is breathtaking. Aug 2011.
  7. A very comfortable, clean cottage in a great location. The owner was helpful and friendly and the welcome basket was much appreciated. Many lovely beaches within short driving distance. Ynyslas beach in particular is great for everyone, including dogs! We really enjoyed our stay and will be back next year! Aug 2011.

  9. The cottage is detached and sits in the grounds of the owners B & B. It is well maintained and contains everything that you need for a comfortable stay. The location is great - close to the beach at Clarach and only a few minutes drive from Aberystwyth. There are lots of things to see and do within a short distance from the property, and the views in the area are stunning. There is a river close by with a lovely walk at the side of it, rock pooling at the local beach and miles and miles of golden sand at Ynyslas to enjoy. July 2011.

  11. Very comfortable, better than we expected. Very friendly owner , very unobtrusive it had everything we needed including a startwe pack which we didn’t expect. The pub is more than half a mile away and not worth bothering with, very scruffy. But this didn’t spoil our holiday we just had to go further afield but it was worth it, lovely scenery and views. Looked on the internet and found this property is fully booked up for the whole season. That speaks for itself how good the place is. Thank you. April 2011.

  18. A delightful and peaceful location just outside of Aberystwth that adjoins a field and horse farms. The outside deck on the rear of the property and adjacent gardens provide a lovely location for breakfast or dinner while on holiday. The kitchen is well appointed and very functional for preparing a nice meal and with two full and one half bathroom there are ample facilities for all the guests. A lovely stay on the west coast of Wales. Sep 2010.
