Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. Cottage was lovely as were the hosts. We received a warm welcome and this set the tone for the whole week. Long walks and warm evenings by the wood burner were the order of the day. A wonderful week for us but I recommend going in the season if you wish to take young adults. Lots of places to visit but we loved the surrounding areas. Look out for the predatory birds as they are everywhere but take a identification book as we didn’t have a clue what most of them were! Oct 2012.
  2. The property was beautifully appointed and very spacious and comfortable. The owners provided welcoming gifts, including a bottle of local wine and eggs from their own chickens and could not have been more helpful. The weather on our arrival was chilly and they provided logs and paper for the wood-burning stove and showed us how to get it going -- twice! We enjoyed meeting the chickens poking around in the grounds and the two donkeys housed in a nearby barn. The bird song was also beautiful and very extensive, though we didn’t get to see many of the singers! The property is very nicely situated in open countryside, with ponds, lakes and woods in the vicinity. Walks had to be rather long, as we had to use the very quiet roads: footpaths seemed in short supply and almost every field had electric fencing. We had a wonderful relaxing time, though and thoroughly enjoyed out stay.
  3. Singelas is by far the best property we have visited in France. The location is second to none for anyone looking for total peace and quiet surrounded by beautiful scenery (like the Weald of Kent 50 years ago). Lovely walks, convenient for sightseeing with owners who could not be any more friendly or helpful. The whole holiday was capped off by the privilege of sharing our gite with a family of Pine Martens. Thoroughly recommended and extremely good value for money. May 2011.
  4. It was so lovely and owners were very helpful. Oct 2010.
  5. This is a lovely house that is bigger than the photos would have you believe. Combined with a lovely open space and barns it was a great place to relax for the week. Sept 2010.
  6. Set in fantastic countryside with good views in all directions. A peaceful location. A spacious house on a very quiet country lane. Sept 2010.
  7. Superb old farmhouse, quiet, amazing setting, amazing wildlife/birdlife. Furnished in keeping with period of farmhouse. The fact that bedding and towels were provided was a great bonus. Photos on website do not do justice to this property. Can say without doubt is best holiday ever in 16 years of coming to France. Aug 2010.
  8. Private, peaceful & full of character. June 2010.
  9. Lovely position. Nicely furnished. Husband loved the fishing pond!! May 2010.
  10. The accommodation was full of character and furnished to suit the property. The setting of the house was lovely - peaceful and secluded without feeling isolated. The website really hadn’t done the property justice. Dec 2009.
  11. A beautifully presented cottage on a peaceful site. It has everything that you could want in a rural setting while being less than 10km from a supermarket. April 2009.
