Property Description

Convenient location

Conveniently situated between the market towns of Bungay and Harleston, these attractive properties are set at the edge of the owner’s 6 acre farm, adjacent to the A143. Park Farmhouse dates back over 400 years and is a listed building retaining many unique historic features, with some of the timbers dating back 800 years. Originally built for the local mayor, the farmhouse was once the village bakery and the original bread oven is still in the dining room – it then became a riding school. Beamed throughout, with original herringbone brick flooring in the dining room, it has two woodburners and a well-equipped bespoke kitchen with a range cooker. Oaktree 1, 2 and 3 are all single storey properties with lots of character. Fishing is available on request at the owner’s 4½-acre fishing lake, 2 minutes walk away. With separate drive and courtyard gardens, the properties have been converted and furnished to a very good standard. There is easy access to the country city of Norwich, seaside resorts at Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft and the Norfolk Broads at Beccles. The market towns of Harleston, 3 miles, and Bungay, 4 miles have a good range of shops, pubs and restaurants and for beer enthusiasts the small independent breweries of Grain, 1 mile, and St Peter’s, 3 miles, are easily accessible. Shops and restaurant 3 miles, pubs 200 yards. Properties 19980, 19981 and 19982 and 30285 can be booked together to accommodate up to 21 guests.

  1. Stayed here in June 12. The cottage is great for a couple and had everything you needed for a self catering holiday. The kitchen was very well equipped. The local area was really nice and a lovely pub just over the main road. If you are a fisherman the owners lake is well stocked with a good head of perch. Dont waste your time with corn just use maggots. Our dog had the time of his life as well. June 2012.
  2. What a wonderful place to have a holiday! The accommodation was clean and comfortable. It looked modern and was very well stocked with everything you could possibly need. We had a couple of lovely quiet nights in which was blissful and also an excellent meal at the pub across the road. The farm shop which is a few minutes walk away does an excellent cooked breakfast. Lots of beautiful little villages in the surrounding area to mooch around and stop off in cafe’s (Jesters cafe in Bungay is well worth a visit). The cottage is well situated for travelling around the area and also surrounded by beautiful countryside for fabulous walks. Our only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer! Feb 2012.
  3. An excellent base for visiting Norfolk, Suffolk and The Broads. Oct 2011.
  4. The property was very well equipped and comfortable. Located for easy access to several places of interest. Aug 2011.
  5. Very comfortable, quiet place. Owners are so gently, helpful and nice person. Everything working and beautiful landscapes. Dec 2010.
  6. The property was clean and well furnished. Aug 2010.
  7. The property was spotless and very well equipped. Excellent for dogs as all on one level, with hard floors and an enclosed garden. Plus lovely pub five minutes walk away where we could take the dog and the food was good too (not to mention the Suffolk cider!). June 2010.
  8. Well what can i say, this accommodation was brilliant! Location was great for us, many things to do near by but if you dont drive i wouldn’t recommend. The interior of Oak tree 1 was modern, i was feel in love with the kitchen. All the room where spotless and extremely clean. The owners left us pack of information which was very helpful. There is a very friendly duck which loves any left over bread. Overall we had a wonderful say at Park Farm and wish to go back soon. May 2010.
  9. The property was excellent for dogs. Easy to clean (no carpets) and a secure outside space for the dogs. Excelent outside space for dog walking. The property was equipped to a very high standard (especially the kitchen, it contained everything). March 2010.
  10. It’s a charming little cottage converted from a barn i think. the kitchen has nice stone finishes and the bathroom was spacious and modern. March 2010.
  11. Good local pub which allowed our dogs and did good food. Plenty of walks where we could let the dogs off their leads. "Puppy Palace" in the barn was a great idea if we wanted to leave the dogs for 30 minutes or so. July 2009.
  12. Well equipped and modern cottage. Nice touch of milk, tea, coffee, sugar and biscuits on arrival. Exactly the same as pictures show. June 2009.
