Property Description

This old watermill is set in peaceful and unspoilt countryside. A detached holiday property, it sits in 5 acres of farmland and has views across to a large natural pond. It has been thoughtfully furnished and fitted whilst retaining much of its original features with its beams and exposed stonework. Just a short drive to the sandy dune-backed golden beaches at Hayle and the very beautiful resort of St Ives, famous for the Tate Gallery, its wonderful array of art and gift shops, restaurants and surfing beaches. Penzance is a short drive away offering flights to the Isles of Scilly. St Michaels Mount, Lands End and the family theme park at Flambards are close by as is the pretty harbour village of Mousehole. Shops 1 miles, pub ½ mile.

Spacious living room with exposed stone work and tiled floor. Well-equipped kitchen/dining room with tiled floor. Utility with toilet. First floor: Two double bedrooms, one with 5ft bed, beams and stable door, one with views across pond. Twin bedroom. Bathroom with over-bath shower and toilet.

  2. The property was ideal for our purposes. Really cosy and well equipped. Very peaceful - Lovely location and a pub within walking distance. April 2012.
  3. Loved it. A beautiful property and well maintained. The owners and their family lived just behind the Old Mill and were very friendly and helpful, close enough in case of emergency but not enough to be intrusive. We wanted to go again in October but the week was taken and are now looking at next year instead. It was a long way from Cumbria to Cornwall but well worth it. Overall, we had a lovely week and cannot recommend this property highly enough. The only downside to these reviews is that it makes it harder to find the week you want as more people want to go there. Maybe you should suggest to the owners that they build a similar property nearby but not too near. Very highly recommended. Feb 2012.
  4. Fantastic place to stay. Great owners, wonderful setting, ideal location. The only problem with a place this good is trying to keep it a secret so you have a better chance to get the weeks you need. Will go back again. Oct 2011.

  6. A very comfortable and well equipped period property in a quiet, beautiful location with excellent amenities nearby. Stunning grounds with two wildlife ponds and plenty of space with pretty walks from the cottage. Well located for most of Cornwall’s attractions. The host family are delightful, as are their pets! This was our second visit and we plan to return next year. Sept 2011.

Cottage was really comfortable, nice bath, and the location was lovely and peaceful but within easy reach of most places, try the short train ride from St Erth park and ride to St Ives lovely views. The owners were lovely, helpful and friendly Skipper was a treat for our grandson he has never fed a horse before! May 2011.

  13. The cottage was a charming old watermill with many original features, located in very pretty grounds with a stunning millpond. It was furnished to a very high standard and spotlessly clean. It was well located for the beaches and had some excellent shops nearby. Sept 2010.

  16. Cosy, quiet and excellently furnished. Home from home and ideal retreat. Exceeded all expectations and the horse opposite the house was re-shoed and the owner let us watch and was extremely friendly. Local pub was lovely. Lights in Angarrack at Christmas were different and quirky but added to the whole friendliness of the locals. Owners left us a Christmas welcome pack and hand written note which was lovely. Would definitely go back. Totally relaxing and stress free break! Dec 2009.
