Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. The accommodation is in a quiet road and there are local walks from the door, along quiet lanes, that are well worth doing. The cottage is small but offers adequate accommodation for two. The garden is also tiny but there is an area, if the sun is shining, to enjoy a peaceful drink or two. June 2012.
  2. The conversion had been very well done, and furniture, linen, fittings etc were of a good standard. A new TV had been installed since the pictures on the web site were taken, but we felt that while this was good, it was mounted too high up the wall and made watching it from the sofa very hard on the neck. Also we found the living room dark in the evenings and felt it would benefit from better lighting- we noticed someone else had commented on this in the visitors book, so it wasn’t just us! We also felt that instruction books for the various bits of equipment would be useful, as would an up to date schedule of recycling collections. Bottle holders missing from the fridge door meant we had to put bottles on their sides, hoping they wouldn’t leak and it cut down storage space. Provision of tea towels for those, like us, who didn’t use the dishwasher would also be good. The shower was good once we discovered that hot water would only appear if pressure level was set to high- a note some where to this effect would have saved a lot of water and bad language! We must sound picky, but in general we found the cottage very good and the bed was especially comfortable. The flowers and wine were much appreciated too. April 2012.
  3. Excellent location for the Wye Valley, Forest of Dean and the Welsh Borders. Longest journey 25 miles and an area very uncommercialized. Took us till Thursday to find some postcards! March 2012.
  4. Lovely cottage, the welcome package was very well received. The cottage is a great stepping stone to go on and explore Gloucester/Hereford. We enjoyed the Forest of Dean Steam Railway, the RSPB reserve ’Nags Head’ (this reserve is located at Parkend, on the Railway) also the forest of Dean heritage centre is worth a visit. Sept 2011.
  5. Lovely cost cottage. Just perfect for quiet getaway for 2. Will definitely book again. Aug 2011.
  6. The bedroom was very spacious and the bed was comfortable,I would suggest darker or blackout curtains as there was problem with barking dogs. it is nicely situated for the Wye valley and Wales. June 2011.
  7. Very nice, owners, left wine, milk & tea, & fresh flowers. Tiny garden provided a nice place to relax in the sun. Severn & Wye Smokery in Chaxhill had sausages & pork pies to die for! White Hart in Broadoak open all day for food. June 2011.
  8. A lovely little conversion, just suitable for two of us. Local shop very well stocked and owner extremely thoughtful (wine, flowers, milk on arrival). Heating took a while to get to grips with, I don’t know how it would be in the middle of winter. May 2011.
  9. The property offered everything needed for a comfortable holiday. Sept 2010.
  10. The interior was designed ingeniously to provide an split-level open-plan living area which still felt cosy. Sept 2010.
  11. Nicely converted, living area rather small. Very quiet spot but useful having village shop nearby. Carpet in living area rather stained, certainly needs replacing. Loved the bedroom, light, spaceous & nicely furnished, very nicely done bathroom too. July 2010.
  12. Very attractively decorated and well equipped. Bed was too hard for us. Oct 2009.
  13. The cottage is in an idyllic position. It was very peaceful and we were not overlooked by the neighbours. The layout and decor were fantastic and the thoughtfulness of the owner in leaving milk, teabags a bottle of wine and flowers for our arrival were second to none. Sept 2009.
  14. Lovely cosy cottage, which had been converted to a high standard. Very comfortable bed! The weather wasn’t too kind to us, so we were grateful to have somewhere to relax and watch the rain! DVDs and videos were provided and good satellite TV. The owners provided tea, coffee, milk, fresh flowers and a bottle of wine on arrival, which was very thoughtful. We would definitely make a return visit. Aug 2009.
  15. The local pubs/restaurants served excellent food and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Aug 2009.
  16. We were delighted with the cottage and the owners were extremely pleasant and helpful. July 2009.
