Property Description

"Set in a bay, once voted the most romantic in England...and just minutes from attractions to delight all ages"

Set on the main Heritage Coastal Route with views out to the coast, these charming holiday homes will delight all ages. Each one offers individual character and charm. Converted from former barns, the cottages have been created with great attention to detail by caring owners to offer a holiday experience to remember.
Set on the edge of Embleton Village, on what was once voted the most romantic bay in England and close to the popular villages of Craster, renowned for its smoked kippers, and Beadnell with its water sports and Newton-by-the-Sea with its National Trust beach and micro brewery. Alnwick is only
7 miles with its majestic castle (used in the Harry Potter films), lots of cobbled streets, enchanting gardens, playhouse, inns and restaurants. Dunstanburgh Castle in nearby Craster makes a lovely walk along the cliff top, reached only by foot. Finish off with fresh seafood on the way back in one of the many fine and friendly pubs dotted along the coast. Seahouses known for its fine fish and chips and small working harbour is always a visitor’s favourite. Holy Island is not to be missed but check the tides first or take a boat trip over to the Farne Islands to see the puffins or seals whilst in Seahouses. Embleton village has a friendly pub and restaurant, garage, post office, well-equipped children’s park and magnificent sandy bay. A beach hut is also available to hire in Newton-by-the-Sea (an NT beach) by arrangement with the owner. There is membership of the local, private leisure facilities and guests are welcome to use the pool, gym and spa at cost.

Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. Cottage was lovely and big. Everything we could possibly need was there. Beach was about a half hour walk but was stunning when we got there although a lot of glass about at the Newton by the sea end. Loved the area. The beach between Bamburgh and Seahouses was so beautiful we didn’t want to leave. Our daughter loved feeding the ducks every morning and evening and watching the horses. It was harvest time when we were here and we loved watching the farmers working! Our best holiday for a very long time. Sept 2012.
  2. Lovely family and glorious countryside, and we had a great holiday. The profiling bed was really useful. However, the lack of a tumble dryer will put us off next time, as our particular disabled person requires a lot of washing. June 2012.
  3. Lovely cottage, very high tech. Enjoyed staying here. May 2012.
  4. The accommodation is a real home away from home. Everything is provided that you could require with lots of nice touches such as the welcome pack. The proporty is part of a complex but is really quiet and excellently situated for visiting lots of places along the coast and in land. April 2012.
  5. Charming stone cottage on the outside, all the modern conveniences inside. All the little touches - posh soaps, bath robes , welcome pack with local produce. Oct 2011.
  6. The property was excellent, a real home away from home. The property was spacious and very comfortable and in an ideal position to tour Northumberland. Sept 2011.
  7. Long Cart Cottage was by far the best self catering accommodation we have ever been to. We wanted for nothing. Attention to detail was fantastic. I would recommend this accommodation to anyone. Sept 2011.
  8. The holiday cottage was excellent in all respects. This is a new development and the views from the cottage will be better when landscaping is completed. Aug 2011.
  9. Excellent property, to a very high standard, thus expecting visitors to respect it accordingly. Location was good for visiting many of the notable castles, houses and countryside. Our first visit to the region but most certainly not the last! July 2011.
