Property Description

Situated between Harlech Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the world class Royal St Davids links golf course, Noddfa has beautiful views of both and the sea beyond. The current detached mansion has a history dating back 250 years, and was protected by the castle garrison. The fully refurbished holiday accommodation comprises entrance hall, dining room with table for 20, drawing room with views over the links, cinema room, games room real fire, large farmhouse kitchen and cloakroom. On the first floor there are four double bedrooms, three twin bedrooms and one bunk, all of which are en-suite. Charming gardens surround the property with ample parking. Harlech is an attractive town with a theatre, a magnificent sandy beach with safe bathing and good restaurants and shops. Portmerion, Ffestiniog railway and Snowdon are all within a short drive. Golf can also be found nearby. Shops ½ mile, pub 300 yards.

Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. Had a great weekend with the family, the kids would of liked a garden area to play football and cricket but we managed. Weather wasn’t the best so limited our ability to explore the beaches and surrounding areas (direct vicinity a bit run down to be honest) but we ended up spending a lot of time in doors. Kids loved the cinema room and adults spent most of the time around the big dining table. Rooms were comfortable and en-suite facilities in each made life easier. June 2012.
  2. This was a great house for the four families that stayed there. Having all en-suite bathrooms was great as we had quite a few teenagers. It was big enough for us all to have our own space. Adults drinking and chatting with a log fire. Girl teenagers watching movies in the Cinima and boy teenagers playing computer games. Feb 2012.
  3. This was a great base for our family. We appreciated the comfortable living space and well equipped kitchen. Back bedrooms were a bit dark but it was great to have en suite bathrooms in every room. Parents in late 80s managed but only because they are very fit! Steep walks down to coast road and up to the village. July 2011.
  4. The house is very nice a lovely family space. However, it should be noted that the house is located on the side of a hill and there is no flat garden area near to the house. It is however 5-10 mins walk over the golf course and sand dunes to a fabulous and virtually empty beach. July 2011.
  5. Overall a great cottage which I would recommend to anybody considering using. The cottage sits just below Harlech Castle, and has a great view of the bay. 10 minute walk from a beautiful completely unspoilt beach. Within easy walking distance of several pubs which also serve food, of the beach, the village and the train station. Nov 2010.
  6. A compact, solid and historic house situated very close to Harlech castle and village, with stunning views west across Tremadoc Bay. Eight en-suite bedrooms, a roomy and attractive dining room and a well-eqipped kitchen. Oct 2010.
  7. All bedrooms en suite location excellent. Sept 2010.
  8. The property served our purpose. It had the feel of a property that had been well looked after. Having said that, there was an annoying dripping tap in the kitchen and bedroom 7 was not entirely watertight. Sept 2010.
  9. Set in lovely surroundings, very clean and spacious. Kitchen very well equipped. Aug 2010.
  10. Views over golf course wonderful. Nearness to other places of interest good. Cinema room first class. Kitchen and dining rooms very well supplied with ware and cooking equipment. Altogether a lovely house. May 2010.
  11. Beautiful location, well maintained, comfortable, well furnished. April 2010.
  12. Cinema room was great & location to town and beach was ideal. Feb 2010.
  13. Great location, loved the cinema idea. Jan 2010.
  14. Spacious. Nov 2009.
  15. Well positioned, good views, plenty of room for large parties. Sept 2009.
  16. Perfect for a family weekend, with easy access to the (empty) beach, plenty of space, two dishwashers and the housekeeper couldn’t have been more helpful. June 2009.
  17. Wonderful location. We all had a great time. Welcome pack very well received. Absolutely brilliant for a party of 15. Kitchen fantastic as we self catered. July 2009.
  18. The house was fantastic, we all had a wonderful time and the facilities and equipment more than catered for all our needs, it was even better than we expected. April 2009.
  19. The situation is lovely - so close to wonderful beach and dunes - stunning! Village also very pleasant and several very nice places to eat out within walking distance. Some minor problems with appliances otherwise excellent. July 2009.
  20. The accommodation was top class, all the group had a great time and we are going to book again for next year. A lovely setting and a great time had by all. May 2009.
