1. These terms and conditions should be read with the Booking Conditions and insurance information in our brochures or on our website. Especially note Sections 2, 4 and 7 of the Booking Conditions
2. Offer applies only to bookings for 2014 which are booked before 13th April 2014.
3. The low deposit payable under this offer is £25.
4. Does not apply to properties that sleep 10 or more.
5. The difference between the £25 low  deposit and the usual deposit shown in our main brochure or website is payable with the balance payment, which we must receive no later than 10 weeks before your booking starts, or at the time of cancellation if you cancel your booking. This payment will include all applicable charges as detailed on your booking confirmation, including any insurance premiums and any Ferry costs. If payment is not received in full on time, we can treat your booking as cancelled by you for a non-refundable reason. If this happens, you will be responsible for cancellation charges (as shown in our main brochure or our website) including any deferred Booking Fee, Personal Travel Insurance and Ferry crossings that you have chosen to buy, all of which must be paid immediately.

Property Description

In the village of Porlock on Exmoor National Park and nestling between Porlock Hill and the sea, 1 mile, these converted ships mews, formerly stables, and detached dormer bungalow offer sea views of Porlock Bay and make an excellent holiday location to enjoy the natural wonders of Exmoor and the dramatic coastline in this region. There is superb scenery and walking on the South West Coastal Path or inland on the moors, and many places to visit to make a memorable holiday. The Victorian villages of Lynmouth and Lynton, famous for the Watermeet Gorge (NT), valley of the rocks and the funicular cliff railway are well worth a visit, or looking towards Minehead, you can go back in time on the scenic West Somerset Steam Railway, or visit the enchanting medieval Dunster Castle (NT), with its beautiful terraced gardens, Deer Park and Mill making for an interesting day out. Nearer home you can wine and dine in the owner’s adjacent public house and restaurant, the 13th-century Ship Inn, or enjoy the fine selection of unusual shops in this pretty traditional village. There is also fishing, golf, horse riding and cycling all available, or further afield the resorts of Ilfracombe, Combe Martin and Woolacombe are well worth a visit. Shops 200 yards, pub/restaurant 100 yards.

Electric heaters, electricity, bed linen and towels included. DVD. Electric hob. Combi microwave/oven/grill. Shared garden with sitting-out area and furniture. Parking (1 car).

  1. Excellent base for touring Somerset. Porlock village has a number of dog friendly pubs and cafes. Property small but perfectly adequate for a weeks stay. June 2012.

Many places to visit within 30 - 45 minutes drive; Sandringham (especially enjoyed the gardens and museum) ; Ely’s beautiful cathedral; Norfolk Lavender; Wells-next-the-Sea & away from the busy resorts amazing (dog friendly) beaches e.g. Brancaster and Old Hunstanton. The close proximity to the busy A47 was the only negative with regard to Game Keepers Cottage but the worst of the traffic noise was during rush hour times and the large well enclosed garden compensated for any minor "road noise" disturbance. Will recommend without hesitation. June 2011.
