Rural retreat on a working farm

Rural retreat

Newtown Haven is a quiet, rural cottage with enclosed garden, located in farming country. For the even more active, there is a riding school, 1 mile, golf and fishing. Within easy reach visit West Midlands safari park, boasting white lions amongst many other animals and attractions, the Severn Valley steam railway, Ironbridge Gorge museum and Blists Hill Victorian Town. Close by Ludlow, famous for its castle, festivals, quaint streets, shops, open markets and an abundance of restaurants for fine dining, some Michelin starred. The area also boasts many National Trust properties, all within easy driving distance. Have a day out further afield to the cathedral cities of Worcester, with its Porcelain outlet, Hereford, home to Bulmer’s cider and museum, and Gloucester for the regeneration of the Docks and the abbey at Tewkesbury. If you are a book lover, enjoy a trip to the renowned book town of Hay-on-Wye, whilst theatre lovers can venture out to Stratford-upon-Avon to the recently reopened Royal Shakespeare Theatre, the birthplace of William Shakespeare. Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. The location right out in the country so peaceful and quiet. The farm dogs were extremely friendly and came to greet us every morning when let out of their kennels. The garden excellent for dogs as I don’t think it shows in the photo but under the conifer hedge is a wire fence which would be impossible for even a chihuahua to get through. The owners Ingid and Maurice extremely kind and helpful and we shall definitely return in the future as there are so many places yet to visit. Oct 2011.
  2. Accommodation was clean with plenty of pots and pans and crockery for the correct number of people to stay. It was a very restful time stuck in the middle of the countryside. July 2011.
  3. Very clean, warm and very well equipped. Nov 2010.
  4. Accommodation was to a very high standard, comfortable and the owner very welcoming and helpful. Sept 2010.
  5. The driveway sweeps around the pond, it looks small from the outside but when you get inside it really opens up into a lovely place with wooden beams, your own private garden, it was peaceful and lovely and i would recommend to anyone. It is like a home from home and youhave everything you could need with great country & farm views out of the windows. July 2010.
  6. Excellent for dogs with enclosed garden. Dogs made welcome by owners. July 2010.
  7. Lovely size, very clean and great garden for dogs! July 2010.
  8. Like a tardis - roomy and well designed. May 2010.
  9. A lovely clean and well equipped place. Would recommend it. March 2010.
  10. The owners were very welcoming and the property had a warm inviting feeling. It was very comfortable and easy to settle into. The children loved the whole atmosphere including the very friendly attention of the dogs. Feb 2009.
  11. Very well equipped and comfortable holiday home. Super location for seeing Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire and Powys. Only regret is we didn’t realise the TV had a built in DVD player till the last evening!! Nov 2007.
  12. What a fantastic spot, a true gem in our countryside, if only all holidays were like this one. Owner friendly and helpful right up to the last day, fantastic holiday for all. Aug 2008.
