Enjoy splendid views to the sea

Mouse Cottage is a detached property set in an AONB and a conservation area, and has views to the sea from the dining room and decked patio. A sandy beach and cafe are minutes from the door. The South West Coast Path is minutes away, and Torquay and Teignmouth are within 5 miles. For bird watchers, the rare Cirl Bunting makes its home in Maidencombe. Close by is Dartmoor, with its ponies, heather clad tors, quaint little villages, with shops, pubs, and tea rooms where a Devon cream tea is a must. About 8 miles away is the medieval town of Totnes, where the spirit of the past is re-enacted weekly in the form of an Elizabethan market during the summer months. Boat trips to Dartmouth from the Quay make a splendid day out. Exeter is 15 miles, with its magnificent cathedral and shopping centre, or visit the quay and take a boat trip to one of the many pubs waiting to be discovered. Dawlish Warren with its nature reserve which is well known for attracting rare birds on their annual migration. There are many NT properties within the area that are well worth a visit. Maidencombe beach is dog friendly all year round. Shops 11/2 miles, pub 200 yards.

Flight of steps lead to the path to the entrance. Ground floor: Living room with wooden floor. Dining room with patio doors and wooden floor. Kitchen. 3 bedrooms: 1 double (5ft), 1 twin, 1 single (for child). Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet. Beams throughout.

Gas central heating and electricity included (£30per week November-February). Bed linen and towels included. Freeview TV. DVD and small library. CD. iPod dock. Electric cooker. Microwave. Washing machine. Enclosed garden. Balcony with furniture. Parking (1 car). No smoking. Friday to Friday.

  1. A quaint little cottage, although in need of some modernisation, but this could take away its charm. Very well equipped for a self catering holiday. Beautiful views from the balcony. Secure enclosed large garden for the dog. The small bedroom was very small, but this was shown in the website, and a little cold at night time ?? Owners (living next door) very helpful and friendly. Although the beach was just 4 or 5 minutes walk downhill and then 130 steps down, it was hard work on the way back up when you are unfit !!!!!! If you are looking for a quiet, peaceful and restful holiday cottage, this is perfect. Aug 2011.
  2. The Cottage was well appointed had great views and was very close to both beach and good pub/restaurant It also has large secure garden to allow dog to run around unsupervised. Dec 2010.

  18. Mouse Cottage is lovely in a beautiful area near to the beach, footpaths and the local pub. The cottage was very well equipped and the owners were lovely and welcoming. Will be returning to Mouse Cottage in the future. Nov 2007.
