Situated near a small village in the pretty Bocage area of Normandy, this terraced stone cottage is a delightful base for exploration or relaxing. The English owners live on-site and are happy to share their local knowledge. The attractive market town of Torigni-sur-Vire to the west has a beautiful lake with pedal boats and fishing. There is an excellent traditional market here every Monday. To the north west is St. Lô with its ancient château ramparts. Within easy driving distance of the D-Day beaches and the seaside resort of Granville, and the bustling city of Caen with its shops, château, quayside restaurants and UK ferry port.

Location: 1km from Placy-Montaigu(shops), 5km E of Torigni-sur-Vire (shops, bar, lake, market), 15km SE of St Lô (large town, all facilities), 30km SW of Bayeux (tapestry), 45 minutes drive to Granville (beaches, shops, seafood restaurants).

  1. The cottage was very easy to find and was in a charming spot surrounded by fields. It had been restored to a very high standard while keeping its original character. The owners were very helpful and suggested many things to see and do locally. We especially enjoyed the crepes in nearby Conde-sur-Vire. June 2012.

Spotlessly clean & everything you might reasonably need was available. Owners were very helpful. Lovely countryside and well located for exploring Normandy.   8. The property has been beautifully renovated and the facilities provided especially in the kitchen made it easy to self cater. The owners gave us a really warm welcome and we would recommend the property to any one that wanted a quiet environment to stay but easy access to places to visit. Oct 2009.

  11. Beautiful location which was in a quiet rural location, however, easily accessible to the places in Normandy we wished to visit such as the beaches and Bayeaux. We saw gloworms at night in the hedgerows, never seen one before in England! The cottage was very well equipped for self-catering. Often you find you don’t have or can’t find all the cooking utensils/equipment you would like but this was excellent. Also had a barbecue which was a nice extra. July 2009.
