Excellent sea views

At the base of dramatic cliffs on the western edge of Seil Island, the neat white-washed cottages of Ellenabeich were built by the slate quarrymen working on nearby Easdale Island. In its heyday 600 families lived both here and on the Island and the industry thrived until 1881 when severe storms flooded the quarry. Today Ellenabeich is a peaceful and picturesque holiday destination. The property was originally the workshop of the late C. John Taylor. In a beautiful location on the waters edge facing the jetty with wonderful views of the seascape. The ground floor apartment is ideal accommodation for 2/4 people and can also be booked with property W40217 to sleep up to 8 people. Shop, pub and restaurant 100 yards.

All on ground floor: Living room with double sofa bed/dining room/kitchen. 1 double bedroom with en-suite shower room and toilet. Laminate floors throughout.

First £10 electric central heating and electricity included, remainder by coin meter. Bed linen and towels included. CD. Electric oven. Microwave. Dishwasher. Enclosed lawned garden and furniture. Portable barbecue. Ample parking.

  1. If you are looking for a quiet location overlooking Easdale Island, then this is the property for you. The accommodation is simple but adequate. It has everything you need. Not too far from the Pub. Car is essential as the location is far from shops/Oban. Sept 2012.
  2. A superb place to spend a quiet week. You can make the 5 minute crossing to Easdale and enjoy a peaceful lunch in the Puffer bar on this traffic free island. Take the ferry to Luing from nearby Cuan for another restful day out. Come back in the evening and have dinner at the Oyster bar in Ellenabeich. You’ll be completely relaxed at the end of your stay. June 2012.
  3. Ellenabeich is a lovely village and The Annex had a great view across the harbour and over towards Mull - a fantastic location for watching the sun set in the evening. The Annex was very comfortable and well furnished. The Annex is a small property, but is ideal for a couple, and a dog! The surrounding area is extremely beautiful. There are a number of walks you can enjoy directly from the property. An Cala Garden is a very short walk just outside the village and is one of the gardens open under the Scotlands Garden Scheme for charity. There is a pub/restaurant in the village which serves good food, particularly seafood. Overall, a fantastic location for a great holiday. July 2011.
  4. A lovely house on a gorgeous place. Everything you need is in the house, and the garden is visited by rabbits and lots of birds. 14km from the "rest of the world" and no mobile reach, so really away from the world. The island up front is beautiful, and connection to and from cheap and easy. June 2011.
