Property Description

An ideal retreat for a relaxing and peaceful break, this 19th-century oast house has been fully converted to provide exceptionally attractive accommodation. The house forms two separate holiday homes; on the ground floor, Chaff House which is all on one level with easy access, and above, Oast House. Great care has been given to colour co-ordination and tasteful furnishing, blending original features with modern comforts to retain the character and warmth of this old building. The house is one of a cluster of farm buildings at the heart of a working farm. Close at hand is the historic market town of Bromyard with popular Downs and Brockhampton Court (NT), and within easy reach are the cathedral cities of Hereford and Worcester, and the Cotswolds. There is excellent riding, golf, tennis and fishing nearby. Shop 1 mile, restaurant 5 miles.

Apartment over two floors. External staircase to first floor entrance (approx. 12 steps). First floor: Spacious, open-plan living/dining room with oak fitted kitchen area. Double bedroom. Bathroom with shower cubicle and toilet. Separate toilet. Second floor: Two twin bedrooms. Beams throughout.

  1. Another wonderful stay - thanks for everything. Girls have loved helping with the lambs. It’s been a totally chilling out week. Loved it, loved it! Feb 2013.
  2. We said we would come back and it’s as lovely and homely as it was last time. We love it. Dogs love it too! Sept 2012.
  3. Comfy, friendly, tranquil and relaxing. Places to visit - The Cheese Factory at Monkland, Hereford a must (Market on Wednesday) and Hampton Court Castle. The Hop Pocket was great too! Thank you for being so caring and friendly. Aug 2012.
  4. Lovely place, Bannut Garden worth a visit. Great food at The Three Horseshoes in Little Cowarne. June 2013.
  5. Wonderfully comfortable and characterful accommodation with exposed beams of the original oast house and a big glass doorway looking out onto the farmyard and barns which are attractive in themselves. The owner was very helpful with everything including giving directions for a child-friendly place to eat en route (the Swan at Whittington, just off M5 J7) and where to walk around the farm. The children loved seeing all of the animals (including a hare and a bat!) and there was space for them to chase around the bedrooms and play inside too. We liked the extra touches like home-made scones, milk in the fridge and fresh flowers on the windowsill. March 2012.
  6. Very comfortable. Welcoming, helpful and friendly owners. Home made scones and jam on arrival. Sept 2011.
  7. We had a lovely weekend stay. The owners were friendly and very accommodating. Everything was ready for us including home-made scones which was a lovely touch. March 2011.
  8. Very well presented. Sympathetic decoration. Spacious yet homely. Aug 2010.
  9. Lovely surroundings, fabulous caretaker & great accommodation. July 2010.
  10. Lovely location on a working farm. Felt at home. July 2010.
  11. It was in a picturesque setting and looked good on first sight. The rooms were perfectly adequate for the five of us and the views were good. May 2010.
  12. Location. March 2010.
  13. The property was beautiful set in the middle of a farm. On our arrival we were greeted with fresh flowers and homemade scones. We were made very welcome by the owners and they allowed us to stay longer than the leaving time because they did not have anyone coming there that day. This was very kind of them. Would recommend this property to anyone. Thank you for a lovely weekend. March 2010.
  14. Oast house was very comfortable and spacious. Very quaint inside, lovely old beams in the walls and ceilings. It has lots of character within the property. We loved waking up to peace and tranquility every morning. Aug 2009.
  15. The Oast House was restored and maintained to a very high standard and in a beautiful peaceful setting. Aug 2009.
  16. A beautifully presented property, the photo’s don’t do the interior justice. Very comfortable & in a beautiful setting. Aug 2009.
  17. Exactly as described, so we knew what we were getting. Welcoming cream tea was a great unexpected extra. Very friendly welcome. July 2009.
  18. Wonderful location, extremely helpful owners and all the little extras that make the difference were included. June 2009.
  19. The Oast house was a great find! We loved the accommodation, the fact that it was on a farm and the convenience of the location. We particularly appreciated the owner’s attention to detail: everything from the provision of soap and toilet rolls to a vase of fresh flowers and delicious fresh scones on our arrival. April 2009.
  20. An excellent spot from which to explore the many walking, eating, great food and antique shopping opportunities in the locality. A truely peaceful and restorative place to stay. April 2009.
