Property Description

A magical setting on the shores of Lake Windermere providing the perfect holiday location. This exceptional house, one of a pair, offers spacious, light rooms and inspirational contemporary decor and lighting. Situated at the southern tip of the lake, it is set in 4 acres of paddock and woods with a beck bordering one side and 150 metres of lake frontage. There is also an enclosed garden with decked terrace. The southern Lake District offers a spectacular choice of activities from watersports to mountain climbing, cycling and walking. Magnificent scenery surrounds visitors in every direction and there are many cultural events throughout the year around the lakes and at the historic castles, houses and gardens which abound in this area. The nearby village of Lakeside, 1½ miles, is home to the Aquarium of the Lakes and the Lakeside to Haverthwaite Steam Railway - a great favourite with families and train enthusiasts. Bowness-on-Windermere, 7 miles, is a vibrant village with stylish boutiques, restaurants, art galleries, museums and the Beatrix Potter Exhibition. From here there is also a small car ferry across the lake to Sawrey, Hawkshead, the Grizedale Forest and Coniston, and the tourist boats for trips to Ambleside or a leisurely scenic excursion around the islands. Alternatively, simply relax in the grounds with a picnic beside the lake and a swin, weather permitting. This property is under the same ownership as Home Farm (LN2). Shop ½ mile, pub ¼ mile.

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. Beautiful property - great location. May 2012.
  2. A beautiful property. Feb 2012.
  3. The layout, facilities and overall atmosphere the house helped to create was great. We particularly like the TV room where the kids could play on their PS3 without impacting the adults. The grounds were lovely. Instructions on how to use the arger and hot plate, laminated and pinned up on the wall would be useful. Nov 2010.
  4. This was a truly fantastic property, we all fell in love with the Aga.The public rooms were all lovely, the TV lounge, the lounge with the lovely pin lights on the ceiling, however we all spent most of out time in the kitchen which was amazing. The only drawback from a personal viewpoint was the open plan ensuites in the bedrooms. Oct 2010.
  5. Fantastic very large dog friendly garden. Oct 2010.
  6. Clean, spacious and modern. Sept 2010.
  7. Miller Beck was located within easy distance of many tourist attractions. July 2010.
  8. Safe and fun for family and dogs. July 2010.
  9. Very good standard, lots of space for a large party of adults, paddock and lake access for the dogs and easy walking to the pubs. May 2010.
  10. Large open plan living area, all bedrooms en-suite and large. Lovely garden with BBQ and fire pit. Grounds surround the house and is safe and enclosed. Can walk to the lake within the grounds, 50 paces. May 2010.
  11. High quality finishes all around worth paying the little bit extra for. April 2010.
  12. Clean and modern. Big rooms. Lots of space. Feb 2010.
  13. This is the third time I’ve stayed at Miller Beck and I love, love, love it! Its amazing, perfectly set, and the four big bedrooms with en-suites means that each couple has their own space and can come together in the living areas. Feb 2010.
  14. It was even better than we expected, the brochure/website didn’t do it justice. Feb 2010.
  15. Modern design and layout. Excellent kitchen and living area. Warm. Nov 2009.
  16. Fabulous property for our party, all young professionals. Boys lounge and girls lounge! Excellent big kitchen, and garden leading to lake. But best of all was the 4 excellent double bedrooms - all with own bathrooms which meant no sharing of bathrooms which was a huge plus for us. Meant that when we drew straws for the bedrooms no one was disappointed! Oct 2009.
  17. The decor and furiniture in the property were very modern and tasteful and all utensils that we could need were included and of a high standard. Oct 2009.
  18. The property was well furnished (although a teapot would have been useful) with good quality equipment. There was plenty of room for us to spread out into and the lake at the bottom of the garden was a real plus. Aug 2009.
