Property Description

This delightful holiday cottage is situated alongside the Troutbeck River and is the larger of a pair of old farm cottages which enjoy views of Blencathra and Mell Fell. The small hamlet of Troutbeck, with its own inn, is ideally placed between Ullswater, 5 miles, and Keswick with Derwentwater, 8 miles, making this an excellent location for exploring the spectacular Northern Lakes. Walking, cycling and pony trekking are all within easy reach. Shops 5 miles, pub 100 yards.

Ground floor: Living room. Dining room. Kitchen. Conservatory. First floor: 3 bedrooms: 2 double, one with en-suite shower room and toilet, 1 twin. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet.

  6. Ideal location as very near ullswater, kewswick, derwentwater and penrith. Lovely cottage and well equipped, logs and even bird seed left for use by visitors. Very warm, very cosy. Beautiful views from conservatory. All rooms very comfortable. Would definitely go again. Oct 2011.

  8. A well equipped and comfortable cottage. Plenty of room for 5/6 adults. An excellent location for the Northern Lakes with easy access to Ullswater and Keswick; especially convenient if travelling by public transport as only 10/15 mins drive from Penrith train station and a short walk from a bus stop.   16. Mell Fell View is a spacious and comfortable cottage with stunning views of Blencathra and Great Mell Fell. We enjoyed sitting in the sun lounge on sunny days and if it was rainy, we were just as happy in the sitting room with the wood burner. The bathroom facilities were excellent and it meant there was never a queue! The cottage is decorated and furnished to high standard and has a great selection of books and guides. June 2010.
  17. Very warm and cosy . Lots of things/items at the property - over and above the necessary e.g. milk in fridge, loads of good books- to make you feel welcome and at home. Clean and spacious with a wonderful garden and stream. March 2010.
