Meaburn Hill Farmhouse has an old world charm which has been carefully recreated to provide a comfortable home from home with a relaxing ambience. Standing semi-detached the property offers a superb, open position overlooking the picturesque village of Maulds Meaburn, its village green and meandering beck, which attracts a wealth of wildlife. This is a perfect location in which to relax, unwind and enjoy a village atmosphere. There is a network of local walks from the doorstep ranging from a gentle riverside stroll to a hike across the fells. Alternatively catch up with your reading in the cosy library or paddle in the local beck catching tiddlers! With easy access to, and centrally positioned between the Lakes and Dales National Parks, the location is ideal for exploring these two contrasting and very beautiful areas. There is an extensive calendar of village shows and farmer’s markets in the surrounding Eden Valley villages. The historic market town of Appleby, 5 miles, has a good selection of shops and restaurants. The Lake District, 25 minutes, and Dales National Park, 45 minutes’ drive. Shop 5 miles, pub/restaurant 1 mile.

  3. Three generations of our family stayed at Meaburn Hill Farmhouse for a weak in May. It proved to be the perfect accommodation & location for all the differing ages. The Farmhouse itself is an absolute delight, traditionally but very comfortably furnished with more than enough space for everyone. So many rooms to explore, much larger than we expected but still remains with a cosy & homely feel. The kitchen has everything a large family/group needs - the best equipped we have ever stayed in. The AGA...wonderful! Both front and back gardens are ideal for children, with the village green & beck an added bonus. Appleby, Mill Yard Cafe Morland & The Butchers Arms are well worth a visit. Picturesque views, friendly locals & many enjoyable walks in the beautiful countryside PLUS a warm welcome from Annie & Brian have made certain we will return to Meaburn Hill. May 2012.
  4. Fabulous place for a large group of friends to chill out together... the bathrooms/bedrooms were all particularly nice. We had snow and found the nearby hills great for sledging!! Annie was really helpful on arrival and generally we LOVED our stay! Feb 2012.
  5. Take your wellies and waterproofs if going through winter months, very wet and cold as expected in December. Lovely house to bring family together for special occasions. Lots of board games, books and toys available in house for families. Remember it is a farmhouse full of old charm. Dec 2011.
  6. Thanks to Annie and Brian for their welcome to the cottage, which was extremely comfortable and well equipped. The new central heating boiler worked excellently and together with the Aga and woodburner made the cottage a cosy choice even for winter. The village had a real community spirit to it and we enjoyed attending the annual bonfire. We look forward to our next visit during 2012. Nov 2011.

  8. A small village but perfectly placed to explore the Lakes, Pennines, and Dales. The accommodation itself was a lovely 16th-17th century farmhouse with all the amenities needed for a relaxing break. The Butcher’s Arms pub in the next village of Crosby Ravensworth is a real gem and well worth a visit for their wonderful food. Check out their story on Google. Sept 2011.
  9. This house was more than we expected in terms of homeliness, comfort, equipment and we appreciated that enormously and it made our holiday. Also having the beck in view of the house was a godsend as the children absolutely loved playing in it. The kitchen with its Aga and all its equipment and large table to fit round, the cosy sitting rooms and wonderful bedrooms, I cannot recommend this house enough. July 2011.

  13. Lovely spacious cottage in amazing countryside. Kitchen and dining room are brilliant for big groups as loads of room. Sitting rooms are lovely and even better when a good fire has been laid! We had the main bedroom so were gutted that we had to share it with our friend! Area is beautiful and the locals are friendly and welcoming. Anne is always on hand if anything is needed whether it’s for some new sheets or pub suggestions! If I could give this more than 10/10 I would! March 2011.
