Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. A super location, super cottage. Very peaceful, and so much wildlife; deer, badger, and visit from a red squirrel every day. A baby woodpecker being fed on the pole of the bird table was a delight too! The log fire, with generous free logs was very welcome on the cooler evenings. June 2012.
  2. The property was absolutely fab! Old style cottage with every comfort you can imagine. The cottage was hidden in a forest with open views to the front of beautiful countryside. A fantastic place and location for a very relaxing break - highly recommend! P.s. the log fires in lounge and bedroom were a dream! April 2012.
  3. The cottage was warm and cosy and well equiped, situated in an ideal location for couples escaping the hustle and bustle of city life. We had a most enjoyable stay and look forward to our next visit. Nov 2011.
  4. A lovely cottage in a beautiful setting. If you want peace and quiet away from everything, this is just the place. Oct 2011.
  5. The cottage had everything we needed. In addition, the location was wonderful and the furnishings in the cottage made it very special indeed. Aug 2011.
  6. An extremely comfortable and well appointed country get-away. Everything we needed was provided. Aug 2011.
  7. Probably the best appointed cottage we’ve had in 20 years of holiday lets in Scotland. July 2011.
  8. We loved our stay at Mar Lodge. It was so peaceful and beautiful. We had our 4 month old son with us and really appreciated all the little touches left by the owner. We requested the travel cot but they also left us a changing mat and nappy bin. Also little touches like home made flapjack when we got there was left out for us and fresh flowers. The only thing is that the property is very secluded so if that’s not what you want than this is not the property for you. We were really impressed but the lodge and will be returning. Only problem for us was that we booked for just the weekend and when we got there really wished we had booked it for a week. June 2011.
  9. Mar Lodge is a real diamond of a holiday cottage. Great location, well equipped - everything you want for a relaxing break. Lots of surprising little extras at no extra cost. Plenty to see and do in the area. A warm and friendly welcome from the owners. One not to be missed. April 2011.
  10. This is an amazing cottage. Everything was perfect and I would recommend it to all. We only lived and hour away but it was as if we were in a totally different world. If you look for peace and quiet then this is the right place with a beautifull view on Tap-o-Noth and the protective forest behind you!!! March 2011.
  11. Loved Mar Lodge because it was nice and quiet and very secluded. We love log/open fires and Mar Lodge had fires in the living room and bedroom. All very romantic for our honeymoon break. Nov 2010.
  12. Top end quality with all the luxurys one needs. Oct 2010.
  13. Quiet comfortable and cosy. Sept 2010.
  14. Location very rural, secluded and no one to disturb the peace and tranquility. Aug 2010.
  15. Excellent in every aspect. July 2010.
  16. The seat in porch was our favourite place. July 2010.
  17. This was our second visit to Marr Lodge. Once again, the standard of the property excelled our expectations in terms of cleanliness and attention to detail by the owners. June 2010.
  18. Outlook was great, wood burning stoves nice, quiet location. June 2010.
  19. We had been to Scotland before, on the West coast and was looking for a new experience. We discovered Mar Lodge on the website and immediately fell in love with it. The area was quiet and peaceful with only cows and sheep to keep us company. The accommodation itself was truly lovely. Two open fires, one the bedroom and a wood burning stove in the living room. The living room was vast which was a surprise as you would not have expected it from the outside. All the amenities were top quality and we there wasn’t any need to bring anything other than our clothes. The owners had thought of everything. The overall experience was one of comfort, peace and tranquility. June 2010.
  20. We had to arrive a day later at the cottage due to the 18 inches of snow that fell that morning. Cottage was all we expected and more, fantastic log fires and plenty of hot water. A perfect place to unwind. Feb 2010.
