Property Description

Beach 0.5 miles

Ideal for coast or country

Steeped in local history, only 5 minutes from the beach, these three properties (refs W40393, W1633 and W2164) provide wonderful holiday homes. W2164 and W1633 offer a unique chance to stay in part of a manor house dating back in parts to the 13th century. Attractively furnished and well-equipped, these are character cottages on a 500-acre working dairy farm, bounded by the sea and with superb walks along the rugged Cornish cliffs. A location used in the TV series of Poldark and Penmarric, the farm also features a 4000-year-old "fogou" (a cavern). W40393 has been tastefully modernised to provide a substantial holiday home for four. Part of a terrace, the old coastguard cottages, the sea is visible from both sides. To the front on a clear day you can see the Isles of Scilly, and from the rear along the coast to Newquay. The famous fishing village and artist’s community of St. Ives is only a short drive away to the east, while a little further west you can reach Land’s End. Penzance with its abundance of shops, restaurants and pubs is 7 miles, and from here you can take a boat or helicopter ride to the magical Isles of Scilly. Golf, surfing and fishing available locally. Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. We come back year after year. Never tire of the views right on the doorstep. The locals are friendly and you can see most of the coastline with only a short drive to most locations. The tv has been updated from the one down in the photo. All in all a lovely retreat from the hussle n bussle of city life. Oct 2012.
  2. This is a cosy cottage situated up on the cliffs just above Pendeen lighthouse. It is ideal for a "get away from it all" holiday. There are lovely coastal walks in either dorection but walking boots are a "must" for comfort and safety. We are in our 60’s and walked the paths down to the secluded cove and across to the tin mines quite comfortably and our dog loved it. Easy access by car to St Ives and Penzance for a day in town or along the coast to less well known spots like Gunwalloe near The Lizard. So beautifully set location and the cottage has all the basics you will need and was warm and cosy even when it was wet, cold and misty outside. Sept 2012.
  3. Loved the bottle of wine on arrival. The location couldn’t have been more perfect - sea views from every window. We and our dog all loved being able to step out the cottage and start a walk along the coastal path. April 2012.
  4. We loved the location and would possibly stay there again, as we now know how to access the nearby beach. The property is really well situated for visiting local attractions and towns. July 2011.
  5. The cottage was very comfortable and well furnished and equipped. There were fresh flowers on the windowsills and a bottle of bubbly as a welcome. Much appreciated! June 2011.
  6. The property was comfortable and well equipped. The dishwasher was especially nice to have. It would have been nice if the owner had left a note with the nearest shop, pub, beach etc. May 2011.
  7. Lovely little cottage, immaculately clean with everything you need. Completely fantastic location: walk straight out of the door onto the cliff-top path for wonderful scenic walks past the lighthouse and down to little secluded beaches. Great for dog owners as it has an enclosed yard plus an open field to play ball etc in (plus the coastal paths). Watch the sun go down with a drink, or else have a bath (room for two!) with a view of the sea. St Ives close by - have a lobster salad at the Sloop Inn. Watch out for foggy weather though, as the nearby lighthouse has a foghorn...April 2011.
  8. Superb views, comfortable cottage and very helpful owners. April 2011.
  9. Great location, stunning views. Feb 2010.

  16. The position of the property was very good only a short walk to the beach. The courtyard was great for eating outdoors and for our dog. Aug 2009.
  17. Amazing views and wonderful location. Very good value for money. Feb 2008.
  18. Fantastic location, easy access to local amentities great pubs and shop. Sept 2008.
