Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. We love this cottage especially the log fires, but please can you supply a bucket to clean them out. Very homely and perfect for families and pets. Oct 2012.
  2. A nice "homely" cottage in a peaceful and rural setting. (The neighbours have sheep, cows, horses and geese!) The three reception areas, and the large garden, meant that nine of us - parents, grandparents and children alike - were all happy with the amount of living space. The location, about 30 mins from York, Scarborough and the North Yorkshire Moors made an ideal base from which to explore this attractive and interesting part of the country. Also Malton, about 6 miles away, has a supermarket, garage, chemist, and nice take-aways. July 2012.
  3. Manor Cottage was a perfect short stay destination. We had children and a dog and the location was spot on! The grounds are fantastic - surrounded by farm animals. May 2012.
  4. Lovely location of house - in hamlet, but nice and peaceful with it’s own massive garden - we loved all the animals in the paddocks around the house - a great place for kids - all gated, lots of space etc. Really recommend this place. Sept 2011.
  5. Fine location and welcoming feel to the cottage. Good site to visit York or head to the sea, generally a really relaxing place to stay, thanks. Aug 2011.
  6. Beautiful cottage that housed all ten of us easily.Spotlessly clean and amply furnished,we even had a bottle of wine left for us as a welcoming present! A wonderfully big paddock was ideal for the children to let off steam in, plus the unexpected bonus of the lovely farm adjacent to the property, the children were able to see the cows, sheep and geese up close but perfectly safely. Overall we had a wonderful week (next time we’ll go for two!). July 2011.
  7. Lovely cottage in excellent surroundings - perfect! strongly recommend. April 2011.
  8. Very cosy and comfortable, yet spacious. Feb 2011.
  9. We liked the space available and the layout of the cottage - for a large family group its brilliant as you all have space!!! Feb 2011.
  10. Spacious, clean, well-equipped, homely, beautiful surroundings, very well-described, great open-fires. Jan 2011.
  11. Lovely rural setting. Excellent layout, perfect for a family break. Really comfortable homely feel and brilliantly equipped. The kitchen literally has everything you you could possibly ever need and what a bonus to find a cupboard full of games, puzzles, books and films to keep everyone entertained whatever the weather. Jan 2010.
  12. It was better than we had expected. Location excellent, accomodation superb, facilities more than expected. Dec 2010.
  13. The cottage was extremely cosy, comfortable and warm at what was the first weekend of the severe winter weather in North Yorkshire November 2010, with temperatures around -8 to -10C. A plentiful supply of crockery, cutlery and kitchen equipment with a perfectly sized dining table for 8 people. Ideal position for local country walking with an excellent Sunday lunch to be had at the Coach and Horses in nearby Rillington. The caretaker was very friendly and helpful and we would definitely stay again. Nov 2010.
  14. The grounds were generous and well kept and the accommodation clean. A really nice atmosphere. July 2010.
  15. The house was beautiful with lots of great facilities and space. Very friendly neighbours, great grounds & very peaceful and quiet. Despite appearing to be a safe, enclosed site, please beware that the gate can be opened by a 2-year old! Would definitely come again! Great place for a family get-together! July 2010.
  16. This was a super property, which was perfect for us. The additional lounge area and extra t.v. were so useful. The kitchen was very well equipped and the dinning room was lovely and spacious. The fact that there were three toilets and showers made life so much easier. We felt that , together with the superb outside area, that it was the best property we have visited as a family and would certainly be going back. May 2010.
  17. Undersold in the brochure - loads of room and an excellent garden. April 2010.
  18. Spacious well presented property. Feb 2010.
  19. Loved the nooks and crannies, felt very homely, we used it for a family get together and it did what it said on the tin, everything was spotlessly clean - if the was a downside; it was further from York than what we thought. Feb 2010.
  20. Very comfortable and homely for 8 adults, 2 children and a dog.good enclosed garden for children and dog. Nice quite area for walking. Jan 2010.
