1. These terms and conditions should be read with the Booking Conditions and insurance information in our brochures or on our website. Especially note Sections 2, 4 and 7 of the Booking Conditions
2. Offer applies only to bookings for 2014 which are booked before 13th April 2014.
3. The low deposit payable under this offer is £25.
4. Does not apply to properties that sleep 10 or more.
5. The difference between the £25 low  deposit and the usual deposit shown in our main brochure or website is payable with the balance payment, which we must receive no later than 10 weeks before your booking starts, or at the time of cancellation if you cancel your booking. This payment will include all applicable charges as detailed on your booking confirmation, including any insurance premiums and any Ferry costs. If payment is not received in full on time, we can treat your booking as cancelled by you for a non-refundable reason. If this happens, you will be responsible for cancellation charges (as shown in our main brochure or our website) including any deferred Booking Fee, Personal Travel Insurance and Ferry crossings that you have chosen to buy, all of which must be paid immediately.

Property Description

Bordered by forests, this former farm is a peaceful retreat with a true spirit of Alsace, nestling in a small village near the German border. The interior is furnished with a mix of modern and rustic features, and retains the original beams in the spacious and comfortable living room. The spacious garden is ideal for al-fresco dining. The courtyard is shared with the owner who lives next door and is happy to prepare home-cooked meals by arrangement. Not far away are the Cleebourg Vineyards, offering a large choice of restaurants. The spa town of Baden-Baden in Germany is just over the border with low cost flights to the UK, and to the south is the bustling town of Strasbourg with its magnificent cathedral, Petite France district and many museums.

  2. Lovely artistic property with a wonderful garden with stream. Gilla was a super lady - friendly and generous. Charming village with storks nesting a mile away. Wissembourg easy to get to and delightful, especially as we were there for the pentecost celebrations with bands, dancing, national costume and markets of all sorts. May 2012.

  4. Maison Gilla is a typical Alsatian half-timbered house in a beautiful village. There are no shops/restaurants in the village but they are near at hand. The landlady - the eponymous Gilla - could not have been more helpful. Aug 2011.

  12. Maison Gilla is a beautifully kept cottage in a lovely private setting. The owner is helpful and considerate and goes out of her way to make you feel welcome. The bathroom is fabulous with a spa bath and underfloor heating. There was a bottle of wine to welcome us and the owner is an amazing cook we had a 5 course meal in the open air dining area which was wonderful our only regret was not booking a fortnight but we will next time!! We would like to thank Gilla for being a wonderful hostess and sharing her wonderful home. It was an exceptional holiday. Aug 2009.

  17. Idyllic setting, property full of character. It was like staying in someone’s home. Special note should be taken of the fact that the owner goes out of her way to be helpful and welcoming without being intrusive. We had a lovely evening when she cooked us a meal (she offers this as part of the service and you pay her) which was fabulous. She is an excellent chef. This holiday would suit people who enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside and are prepared to drive for an hour or so to get to big cities etc. Good for walks, wine and fab food - German and French.
